Carla was a terrific host and very good at communicating with us prior to the trip and upon our arrival. She provided us with lots of suggestions but the area itself has many options for breakfast and dinner. The apartment has a very spacious and comfortable living area. Even though the unit is on the ground floor and does not have a lot of natural light it worked well for us because we were up early and arrived late. The shower stall is quite small so any needing a large area might not be able to shower easily.
Overall we loved the location and amenities.
One of the finest restaurants in Rome, Spirito Divino is located across from the apartment. Our favorite spot for breakfast and expresso was the cafe No Name around the corner.
Carla was a wonderful host. She made us feel very welcome and did a great job with restaurant suggestions and where to go for bars etc. This place has old roman charm with lots of antique furnishing. There are only a few small windows so after a few days it felt a bit cave like but there is lots of lamps and lights. The bathroom and kitchen are small they work. Be careful not to switch the hot water switch off (as I accidentally did when looking for the bathroom light in the middle of the night) as this means icy cold showers until the water heats up again. The area at first seems a bit dodgy (small side streets and quite), but it is actually really safe and you get us to it. We walked everywhere. Definitely eat at mani in pasta literally round the corner, great food and very friendly staff, book at table for 7 or 7.30 for dinner. The pizzeria Carla suggests on the main rd is also great, ask for a table inside so you can watch them make the pizzas. It's great to watch.
Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable! L'appartement est conforme aux photos et il est bien situé. Carla est très arrangeante et elle est disponible à tout moment!
Nous recommandons vivement!
Thank you Carla for such a warm welcome. The local information really helped us get familiar with the area. Great location and absolutely the nejghbourhood to stay in when visiting Rome.
Carla was friendly, charming, knowledgable and helpful, recommending nice local restaurants and less well-known sites, such as the Villa Farnesina. The flat is well-kitted out. Kitchen area quite small but perfectly adequate. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the flat, be warned that it is quite dark with only one or two small windows. The flat is on an attractive little street and very well located for walking to all the historic sites. There are lots of nice, reasonably-priced restaurants a stone's throw away.
Fantastic experience. Carla met us and talked us through the flat & gave us great recommendations for things to do and where to eat in Rome. The area is the perfect place to stay - traditional & attractive streets with fun stuff going on in Piazzas within walking distance. The flat is comfortable, beautifully furnished & very easily linked to the anyway you want to go. We walked up to the Vatican, into the Roman area & over to Testaccio for foodie heaven on different days. We will be back!
