Enjoy this Happy Valley in Yorkshire at the peaceful Hygge Cottage . It's only 5 minutes walk down into town where you'll find bars, restaurants and cafes. Sit outside in the square and enjoy a locally brewed beer. Hygge Cottage is a cosy and romantic getaway close to the hills and dales, rivers and woodlands of the Calder Valley. It has everything you'll need with a modern well equipped kitchen and wet room style bathroom. Modern, but with original features.

The space
Perfect for a spring or summer getaway in a snuggly little Cottage.

Hygge Cottage is locally known as a top and bottom house or an "underdwelling". It's underneath another house built into the hill. It's all on the ground floor on a usually quiet road.

The bedroom has a beautiful original stone floor, with locally handmade furniture with a snuggly Yorkshire made mattress.

The kitchen has recently been remodeled. The unfinished Oak shelves add to the modern but vintage feel.

The bathroom is a wet room as a way of saving space, but still allows for a Rainfall Shower.

We have a Ring doorbell camera by the keysafe. it's purely to make sure no one is trying to get into the cottage who shouldn't. This is the only camera on the property.

Hygge Cottage is small and cosy, it has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Most people who stay are out enjoying the countryside and the pretty town with a host of bars and restaurants to choose from. We don't have any outside space of our own (other than a bench) but there is plenty of space all around.
It's only 10 minutes on the train to Halifax to watch a concert or visit the boutique shops and restaurants at the spectacular Piece Hall or enjoy the laid back atmosphere of Hebden Bridge and surrounding villages. Don't forget to visit the Piece Hall in Haifax and Heptonstall. Set atop the hillside, hundreds of feet above Hebden Bridge, Heptonstall is one of the most historic villages in Yorkshire, beguiling the visitor with its quiet charm.

Other things to note
There's plenty to do in lovely West Yorkshire other than enjoying the lovely sunshine and sitting outside at a stylish restaurant.

It's a short drive or a bus ride to Howarth or the spectacular Piece Hall in Halifax. If you haven't visited the Piece Hall, you must. Especially for one of the many concerts.

Hygge Cottage has everything you'll need with hand made furniture and an amazing comfortable bed, Bedding, towels and a welcome pack are included to make sure you can arrive and be comfortable straight away. The kitchen has everything you'll need including a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, oven and induction hob. You'll find a corkscrew and tin opener. We really hope we have thought of everything 🙂
