Given the concerns around COVID-19, we want to reassure you that in preparation for each arrival, we observe a 24-hour minimum vacancy between guests and the cottage is deep cleaned. This includes:

• All hard surfaces including countertops, window shutters, plugs, switches, handles, TV and fan remote controls are wiped down with disinfectant wipes.
• All towels and bedlinens washed at high temperature with bleach.
• Freshly laundered mattress pads, duvet and pillow protectors.
• Full vacuum and dusting of furniture, window coverings and floors.
• Floors and area rugs washed.
• Curtains, accessory pillows and throws washed.
• Deep cleaning of kitchen and bathroom.
• All dishes, glasses and flatware run through sanitizing dishwasher.

We ask that you please observe safe physical distancing and be aware that California has mandated the use of face coverings in public spaces.

The Guest Cottage is a 624 sq. ft. poolside cottage built in 2014. It has a private patio with a gas grill and seating for two. The living room has a 42-inch screen SMART TV with cable and streaming options. Netflix is included. The eat-in kitchen has all new appliances – range, microwave, and refrigerator – and is fully outfitted with cookware, dishes, glassware, flatware and utensils. The bedroom is a peaceful retreat with a queen-size pillow-top bed, with luxury cotton sheets, your choice of pillows, blanket and seasonal duvet. Individual nightstands with reading lamps and storage drawers have built-in USB chargers for your phone or tablet. There is a vanity table, full-length mirror and closet. The en-suite bath features a deep soaking tub and shower combination. The handheld shower has adjustable jets.

Spa robes and pool towels are provided – you’ll want to pack slippers or beach sandals for walking on the gravel path to the pool. The bath has shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and a hairdryer.

We have a portable air conditioning unit that can be put in the cottage if you would like it.

We are onsite hosts and this is a fully permitted vacation rental. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am. Sonoma County TOT #1402N. Airbnb collects and remits Sonoma County Tourism Tax of 12% for stays under 31 days. A separate cleaning fee is charged per visit.

Guest access
Enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables from our organic garden, relax in several outdoor areas, including a hammock under a huge magnolia tree and enjoy the large saltwater pool in the warmer months.

Other things to note
The grounds of the property are spacious, but they are a shared space. We generally give everyone their space, but you may find us out in garden or enjoying a meal on our patio.

The cottage is deep cleaned between every stay, with all switches, remotes, handles, etc. thoroughly wiped down with Clorox wipes. We take cleanliness seriously! Daily housekeeping is not included.

There is a washer and dryer available for small loads - please note we are on a private well and septic system and there may be some limitations on using the laundry based on the day's water usage.

Cell phone service is good with most carriers.

The pool is heated by solar cover so water temperature is dependent on hours of sunshine and general weather. Generally, the swim season is May - October.

The hot tub is not available.

Our local power utility, PG&E, has informed us that if elevated weather conditions, including potential fire risk, threaten a portion of the electric system serving our community, it will be necessary for them to turn off electricity in the interest of public safety. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff. We are not responsible for shutoffs, and cannot provide alternate accommodations should this occur.

Location

Kenwood, California, United States

Kenwood is a quiet hamlet on the Highway 12 Wine Trail in the Sonoma Valley. The scenery is gorgeous - from vineyards and wide open fields studded with ancient oaks to rolling hills and dramatic mountains. We are in a bucolic setting with nice neighbors who also host guests on their properties.

We are approximately 20 minutes from Sonoma Plaza, 30 minutes from Healdsburg, and one hour north of San Francisco. It's the perfect launching point for wine-tasting excursions in both the Sonoma and Napa Valleys, visits to the Pacific coast, botanical gardens, shopping, hiking, biking and golf. The cottage has plenty of local guidebooks, as well as a pin board with an ever-changing array of restaurant menus and winery activities.

There are more than two dozen wineries and tasting rooms nearby, including St. Francis, Chateau St. Jean, St. Anne's Crossing, VJB, Ty Caton, Landmark, Kenwood, Kunde, and Ledson. There are many notable restaurants a short drive from the property and three Michelin star restaurants in Sonoma County.
