Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Recently renovated and redecorated, this private suite is the ideal spot to relax, or to launch your amazing ski adventure. Walkable location to town or to a lovely wooded hike. A fully apportioned full kitchen with toaster and microwave gives you control of your meals. An electric fireplace keeps the space cozy and beautiful.
We’ll provide basic breakfast essentials, eggs, butter, breads, milk, fruit, etc. so you won’t have to go shopping.

The space
This is a safe space. We practice LGBTQIA and BLM allyship.

A mother-in-law-type of suite with its own 2 parking spaces. A key-code entry for privacy and security.

No smoking of nicotine or cannabis is allowed. Vaping within reason will be tolerated and preferably outside. No controlled substance use is permitted anywhere.

The bedroom has a full closet and a Zinus 12-inch luxury mattress to ensure a good night’s rest after a day of adventure. The living room and kitchen share a space so you can be cooking and watching Netflix at the same time. The futon couch has a super comfy, pillowy mattress that opens to a full size sleeper. We can open this into a bed for you ahead of time or leave it in couch formation—you let us know your preference. A fully apportioned kitchen allows you the choice of staying in and baking pies. Because that’s what we do in Vermont. A sweet antique kitchen set seats 4-6 close friends. A country living library is available in the laundry hallway (just in case you have the sudden urge to know how apple cider vinegar is made).

The room with the furnace and water heater is only accessible through this space, so if a breaker trips or there is an urgent need to access the furnace room, we will let you know.

The property is slightly bigger than half-an-acre and guests are welcome to explore the gardens. Pauline is a life-long gardener, landscape designer, Permaculturist, and edible forest gardener and this will be her first season living in Vermont and at this house and she is very excited about it. She welcomes all visitors to enjoy the fruits of her gardens.

The immediate neighborhood has a beautiful wooded trail around the local water supply, Minard’s Pond. It is a beautiful and peaceful spot to walk in. Great for photography. No fishing or swimming allowed. We are a stone’s throw from the Connecticut river and excellent kayaking. 30-45 minutes from Okemo. And for Dunkin-donuts die-hards we have one down the road at the Penguin gas station, a 17-minute walk or 2-minute drive.

There is a wonderful movie theater in town with a great sound system. And lots of excellent local restaurants.

Joy Wah is a GREAT Chinese sit-down restaurant with beautiful views of the river. Closed on Tuesdays. Donovan’s is a fabulous Irish pub with excellent fish and chips, and two pool tables and big monitors for sports nights. Moon Dog Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch but not every day. They have awesome sandwiches.

And if you’re in town you must check out the Windham Antique Center shop. About ten minute’s drive north takes you to the absolutely fabulous Vermont Country Store. It’s like stepping back in time. And across the river are even more wonderful restaurants and points of interest.
