Spacious Shepherd's hut with a view from your bed of the Wye Crown in a designated AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty). Our location offers a mix of rural and town experiences, at the foot of the North Downs and the Pilgrim's Way for fantastic walks and cycle rides. One mile from the thriving village of Wye with pubs, great restaurants and shops for essentials. Further evening entertainment in nearby Canterbury (15 minutes by car or train) and wonderful beaches within easy reach.

The space
Owl Hut is tucked away in the paddock behind the main garden of Kempe's Hall where Anne-Marie and Matt live with their three teenage sons and Anne-Marie's mother, Elaine, who lives in Kempe's Hall Cottage. Owl is built by Elham Valley Shepherds huts to original plans and exceptional standards. We hope you will enjoy and appreciate the craftsmanship.

When you arrive you will have a dedicated parking space for a car, and secure parking for bikes.

We hope you will enjoy walking through the 'dell', around the main garden where you will immediately appreciate the views of the Wye Downs as you follow the path that leads to the paddock where 'Owl' is situated.

Getting around you would benefit from a car or bicycle but walking to the local village (Wye is 1 mile away) is viable too.

Other things to note
In winter months please bring outdoor slip on shoes, wellies, gardening crocs etc. If it's wet you will find this much easier when you enter the hut.

The hut is fully insulated including under the wooden floorboards, but it will be cosier underfoot with slippers/slipper socks.

Please note that when you walk through the garden our dog, Maggie, will greet you - typically by barking. She is curious and looking forward to getting to know you. We have an electric cable surrounding the main garden and the dog wears a collar that is triggered to vibrate if she tries to escape. Please don't try and tempt her into the paddock, she won't want to follow you! Thank you.

Kempe's Hall is conveniently based on Harville Road which feeds off the A28, which is the main road either to Ashford or Canterbury. Owl Hut is snuggled in the corner of the field which belongs to Kempe's Hall, our family home. With no direct neighbours, it's a heavenly spot!

The surrounding Kent countryside is known as the Garden of England with beautiful fields for grazing and planted with fruit and seasonal crops. Traditional Kentish Oast Houses are dotted across the landscape which is designated an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
