Kitchen & Dining – The chef’s kitchen features quartzite countertops, Moen fixtures, and a Thor gas stove. A Restoration Hardware table seats 10, with a large island and bar stools for casual bites. The kitchen is fully stocked and beautifully integrated into the home’s historic character.

Sunroom – This light-filled, two-story space is the heart of the home. A wood stove adds ambiance in winter; in warmer months, ceiling fans and energy-tinted windows keep it comfortable. A daybed and TV make it a great spot to read or relax.

Second-Floor Living Room – Cathedral ceilings, a Pottery Barn sleeper sofa, a 70” Roku TV, a game table, and a Peloton Bike+ make this a guest favorite.

💼 Historic Significance
This home has played host to some of Lancaster’s most influential residents, including:

Capt. Jacob Krug – Co-founder and first treasurer of Franklin College (now Franklin & Marshall)

Abraham Hershey Herr – Descendant of Bishop Hans Herr, early Mennonite leader

Lt. Col. Jacob Shirk Strickler – State Assembly member, builder, and distiller who operated the on-site whiskey distillery starting in 1802. In 1811, he traded 471 gallons of whiskey for 2.5 tons of plaster.

Guests will have exclusive access to the entire home during their stay. Parking on the driveway is shared with the adjacent historic home, which is also available for rent on Airbnb. Rest assured that we have made arrangements to ensure that parking is convenient and accessible for all guests.

Other things to note
RENTAL AGREEMENT

A signed rental agreement is required to comply with insurance and liability requirements. After booking, we’ll request the guest’s email address through Airbnb messaging in order to send the agreement via DocuSign. The agreement must be completed within 48 hours of receipt to avoid cancellation of the reservation.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY

All additional guests and daytime visitors must be disclosed to and approved by the host in advance. Unauthorized additional guests may result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of all amounts paid.

MINIMUM RENTAL AGE

The primary guest must be at least 25 years old at the time of reservation and must occupy the property for the entire stay. Any exceptions must be approved in writing by the host.

SMOKING, VAPING & ILLEGAL DRUGS

Smoking, vaping, or using illegal drugs is prohibited inside or on the property.
Violations will incur an immediate $500 charge, plus any additional costs required to remove odors or remediate damage.

PETS AND ANIMALS

Pets, emotional support animals, and service animals must be approved in advance and require completion of a Pet Addendum as part of the rental agreement. Approved pets are subject to a $100 per pet per stay fee. Pets must remain under control, leashed outdoors, and are not permitted on furniture or bedding unless protective coverings are used. Extra cleaning fees may apply if pet hair or damage is found.

QUIET HOURS & NOISE MONITOR

Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM, in compliance with Lancaster County ordinance. Guests must keep noise levels to a minimum to avoid disturbing neighbors.

SECURITY CAMERAS & TECHNOLOGY

There are no interior cameras. Exterior camera is located at the front entrance for the safety and protection of guests and property.
The camera records briefly upon motion activation and may not be tampered with or covered. Any attempt to disable or obscure cameras, keypads, or smart home devices will result in immediate eviction without refund.
Hosts review footage only when there is a report, safety concern, or maintenance verification need.

SHARED DRIVEWAY & PROPERTY LINES

The Distillery House shares a driveway and property with the adjacent General Store, another Perennial Stays rental.
If you have not rented both houses together, you and your guests (including pets) must remain on your side of the property to respect the privacy of guests next door. Unauthorized entry onto the neighboring property or shared outdoor areas is grounds for eviction without refund.

PARKING

Parking is available in the designated spaces in the driveway. Do not park or drive on the grass, as it may damage the lawn or septic fields.

SEPTIC SYSTEM & PLUMBING

The home is on a septic system. Only toilet paper may be flushed. Do not flush wipes, paper towels, feminine products, or anything labeled “flushable.” Guests are responsible for any damage caused by improper use.

AMENITIES – SAUNA

Guests acknowledge that the Harbor Sauna involves inherent risks, including but not limited to burns, slipping, falling, dehydration, or other health-related issues. Guests voluntarily assume all such risks for themselves, their party, children, and pets. The host shall not be liable for any injury, accident, illness, or death arising from sauna use.
Guests agree to follow all sauna rules.

PELOTON BIKE

Guests acknowledge and accept all risks associated with use of the Peloton bike, including potential injury or death.
Use of the Peloton or any exercise equipment is at the guest’s own risk. Guests agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the host and property owner from any liability arising from such use. Guests must wear proper footwear and use caution when mounting, dismounting, or adjusting resistance. Children are not permitted to use the Peloton.

INTERNET USE & LIABILITY

Internet is provided for guest enjoyment. Illegal activity, spamming, or unauthorized downloads are prohibited.
The host is not responsible for outages beyond their control and will not issue refunds for temporary service interruptions. Guests are responsible for securing their own devices and data.

EVENTS & COMMERCIAL USE

The property may not be used for parties, weddings, receptions, or other gatherings exceeding the maximum occupancy. Unauthorized events may result in a $1,000 fine and immediate eviction without refund.
Filming or photography for commercial use requires prior written approval. Social media posts must tag or credit @PerennialStays when applicable.

CHILD SAFETY

The home is not childproofed. Guests are responsible for supervising children at all times and assume all related risks. Due to the home’s historic nature, stairs may be steep or uneven and not suitable for guests with mobility limitations.

INDEMNIFICATION & HOLD HARMLESS

Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the host, property owner, and their agents from all claims, liabilities, or expenses arising out of the guest’s use or occupancy of the property and its amenities, including personal injury, property damage, or loss of belongings.

LEGAL ACTION & GOVERNING LAW

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Any disputes shall first be addressed through mediation or arbitration before legal action. The prevailing party in any legal proceeding shall be entitled to reimbursement of reasonable attorney fees and court costs.
