Skeir a Lidda (meaning the flat skerries) takes its name from the sea shore immediately below the property. Constructed in 2021 it has been purpose built to the highest modern standards. Conveniently situated, Skeir a Lidda is easy to get to and is a perfect base from which to explore the islands. While the annexe is connected to the host's own house it is self contained and private. Friendly help and advice is next door!

The space
Skier a Lidda was purpose built for short term holiday lets with low impact, environmentally friendly and sustainable tourism in mind. No accommodation has been taken out of the local community. Skeir a Lidda is highly energy efficient with an Energy Performance Rating A. Solar panels along with a heat pump ensure a constant supply of hot water. As well as fully controllable underfloor heating and triple glazing there is a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery to ensure that the internal environment is as pleasant as possible.
The wellbeing of guests was also an important consideration. A vaulted ceiling gives a sense of spaciousness while the floor to ceiling gable window makes maximum use of natural daylight especially during those long summer evenings. Enjoy sea views over Scapa Flow and surrounding islands from a sheltered private south facing patio. An open plan sitting room with fully fitted kitchen and dining area provides an intimate space for socialising and relaxing.

Guest access
There is ample almost level free parking situated at the end of our private drive. Access paths are hard paved and level apart from a few steps down to the patio. Parking is adjacent to the main entrance and bedroom. St Marys is a small village which is easy to walk around. The main road and bus stop are only a short walk away.

Other things to note
There is an electric vehicle charging point conveniently located on the external corner of the annexe next to the carpark for the exclusive use of residents. It is rated at 7Kw and takes a type 2 connection. An extra cost is applicable if used. Please contact the host for more information. If preferred there is also a public charging point at the nearby community centre which is part of the Chargeplace Scotland network.
