Our cozy island cottage is just steps away from the ferry dock. Take a quick ride over to the Balboa Fun Zone, balboa pier, and miles of sandy beaches.
Or take a casual stroll around the bay front to enjoy the shops and restaurants on Marine Ave, Balboa Island.
There is a local store, coffee shops and restaurant only a block away.
The cottage has a front and back yard patio for outdoor dining or a little R&R. The front yard has a gas fire pit, bbq grill, giant jenga, and outdoor dining area.

The space
Two bedrooms and one shared bathroom. The master bedroom is up a **VERY STEEP and narrow staircase on the second floor. The master suite is a king size bed, the room is very spacious. Closet space and dresser available. There is also 1/2 bath upstairs.
On the first floor is the living room, dining room, extra seating area, 2nd bedroom, bathroom and kitchen complete with gas range and generous supply of kitchen tools, complimentary coffee and tea. Pantry stocked with basic kitchen supplies.
The second bedroom has a queen size bed, the room is a little on the smaller side, there is a dresser and access to the backyard/outdoor patio which has a gas fire pit and lounging area.
In the front of the house is a large front yard, picnic table/dining area, charcoal grill, lounging chairs, and a gas fire pit.
The bathroom has a standup shower and will be stocked with fresh linens and bath supplies for your stay.
No animals permitted - severe allergies!

Guest access
Street parking is free and is first come first serve, there are usually spaces available on the street in front of the house. Summertime parking can be difficult. If you're having problems, I can help you find a spot if you ask (just call or text).
Balboa Island is a very walkable neighborhood, Uber and Lyft are both also readily available and we suggest leaving the car behind and using these services if possible.

Other things to note
"BALBOA ISLAND, with its 2.6-mile boardwalk, is the charm of Newport Beach. Take your time marveling at the colorful cottages
and quaint shops, such as Just Basics and Etc. Etc. Etc. women’s boutiques, along the waterfront promenade and stop at the Balboa Island Museum to peruse the photographs and memorabilia recalling a century of the island’s life and times. Reserve a table at Royal Hen, a gem of a bistro serving California cuisine with Asian and Mexican influences and try the crispy wrapped asparagus and achiote hanger steak tacos. Save room for the mixed berry torte. (You’re welcome.) Or go for more traditional seaside fare at Village Inn, where we roll up our sleeves for the homemade black bean chili and braised beef short rib. You’ll find possibly the best pizza in Orange County at Snipe Island Crafthouse, where those in the know order the sausage fennel option — oven-roasted with a soft, chewy, perfectly charred crust. Mmmm."
