The space
Step into History at Hatcher Family Dairy
Welcome to Hatcher Family Dairy, a working farm since 1831. The cabin was built by Dr. George Hatcher in 1928 as the family home, and over the years, it has expanded to accommodate the growing Hatcher family.
In 2007, the family began bottling milk, now sold at over 90 vendors across Tennessee. Featured in the docu-series The Hatcher Family Dairy (stream Season 1 on Disney+), the farm remains a beloved local business.
As you stay, enjoy photos of Dr. Hatcher and his family, a tribute to the farm's rich history.
Main Living Area:
Charming log living room filled with family pictures and antique furniture. Sitting area with couch and two wingback chairs. The couch pulls out to a queen size bed and can sleep two guest. Cozy up and watch TV- Roku available for streaming (personal log in info required for all your favorite apps). Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the antique dining table with seating for four.
Kitchen:
Custom cabinetry with copper sink, gas range and all your general cooking needs. Wine fridge to keep your local Arrington Vineyards wine chilled. A paneled dishwasher makes for easy clean up!
Sunroom:
Lounge on the sectional couch and look out over the spacious backyard with farm views. We stock the room with games for game night!
Small Playroom:
A small playroom is located just off the main hall adjacent to primary bedroom. It is the perfect size for a travel crib or pack-n-play (must provide your own). Children's books and toys line the book shelf and cozy rug make a great play space! We have two ottomans that pull out in to single beds- perfect for kids!
Main Bathroom:
The main bath features a spacious sink and vanity, brand new toilet as well as a full size shower and tub. Located right next to primary bedroom and easy access from living area as well. Custom embroidered bath towels. We also provide complimentary bath and body products in case you forget anything!
Primary Bedroom:
The cozy primary bedroom features original wood paneling and antique furniture. A king size bed will offer a great nights sleep. Custom embroidered robes are hanging ready for guests to relax! This bedroom includes a TV, Roku and DVD player. A corner closet has a bar for hanging clothes as well as an iron and ironing board.
Upstairs Bedroom:
There is one bedroom upstairs which features original wood paneling with a queen bed. There is a closet for hanging clothes as well as built in wood drawers that line the room. Make sure to notice the Bing Crosby photo from Dr. Hatcher's hospital in England during WW2.
***The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are original to the historic home and may be too steep for certain guests. Please use railing when climbing stairs. Stairs are covered with carpet padding for extra safety. See photos for reference.
Grandaddy Bathroom:
We call the downstairs bathroom located off the back mudroom the Grandaddy bathroom because this is where he would come in from a long day of working on the farm and take a shower and clean up before coming inside. The bathroom features a shower, vanity, toilet, wash sink and washer and dryer.
We have two ottomans located in the cabin that pull out to single beds for additional sleeping options. Perfect for kids.
This is a no smoking home. No Pets. No events. Guests will be fined for smoking inside the home. No RVS, campers or trailers.
Make sure to visit Hatcher Family Dairy Store located down the road! We sell milk, meat, ice cream, coffee, local goods and merch. We offer tours upon request.

Guest access
Guests will park in gravel driveway adjacent to home. NO RVS, campers or trailers. Due to the historic nature of this home. Both entry doors have one step up from ground level to get in to home. The sunroom is down one -two steps from the kitchen. The Queen bedroom is located on the second level and the stairs are very steep. This may not be suitable for all guests. Please see pictures for reference.
The rental property is located on Hatcher Family Dairy but due to safety reasons and insurance purposes, guests are not permitted to freely roam the farm. Guests are asked to stay within fenced in area of rental home.
