The Space

Welcome to your home in Paradise! Wake up to sweet orange blossom breezes and tropical bird calls.

This is a fully updated, Old-Hawaii style home with three bedrooms and two baths in a private estate of four cottages surrounded by a mature, tropical landscape of seasonal mangoes, bananas, oranges, ginger, and birds of paradise. Walk across the broad lawn to the private tennis court; play tennis to your hearts content or escape the midday sun in the shade of mature mango trees.

The home has a well equipped kitchen, living room, lanai with BBQ, full laundry room and a delightful outdoor shower. This is a great family place:, v. comfortable, private and relaxing.

You are just steps away from the "Jewel of Kihei"- KEAWAKAPU BEACH famous for clean, sugar-fine sands, crystal-clear water, excellent snorkeling and great, long beach walks.

The homes in our private compound are owned by family friends. An additional house may be available; ask and we'll check availability.

The master bedroom has a king bed, private bath and garden access. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms each have two twin beds. Twin beds may be reconfigured as king beds with advance notice; $30, one-time, to reconfigure beds if requested with reservation; $75 thereafter.

WEST FACING Keawakapu beach is safe, beautiful, clean and the perfect place to watch the sun set into the ocean each evening. A few miles offshore is the sunken volcano, MOLIKINI, home of outstanding snorkeling & diving and the winter "calving" grounds for blue whales.

Kihei is 25 minutes from the Airport. Our retreat is located in the best residential location with excellent beach access and a only a couple minutes drive from either Wailea or Kihei town. Wailea offers all the amenities of a world class resort: golf, spas, shopping and spectacular restaurants. Kihei is funkier with many small shops, local restaurants, theaters and much more. We are perfectly located for easy access to either yet completely away from the traffic and buzz of both.

Swimming, snorkeling, diving, body surfing
Golf (World-class golf at WAILEA courses only five minutes away.
Endless outdoor activities
Tropical zip line
Mountain biking
HALEAKALA crater hiking
Best early access to Molokini snorkeling and diving
Tons more.

  • Thank you Jim for a lovely and SPACIOUS home to stay in. My travel companions and I were very comfortable all week. We cooked lots of breakfast and enjoyed wine out on the back porch. Then we either went down to the beach, which is literally across the street. If we weren't there it was easy for us to go and meet our friends staying at the Andaz. We would just enjoy their pool or go shopping. I'm not going to lie, my favorite part was driving from your house to the hotel. Kihei road is tree lined and so beautiful. Loved waking up to all the birds in the morning. This place was simply amazing.

  • The house could not be better situated -- steps from a lovely beach (we swam several times every day we were there) and in between the main drags of Kihei and Wailea. Very well appointed, spacious (comfortably sleeps 3 couples, though we only had 2), private, with a lovely patio for reading, relaxed grilling, and sunset happy hour. And Jim is an EXCELLENT host! Very easy to communicate with, shared all sorts of tips on adventures to be had on the island, flexible and accommodating. You definitely sensed that he genuinely wanted you to enjoy your stay. We are already planning our return trip to this peaceful oasis.

  • Jim's house is a great place to spend your vacation. The bedrooms are all very large and the kitchen is fully equipped. We enjoyed the privacy that the backyard offers and the short (1 block) walk to the beach.

  • The home was lovely, and Jim was a pleasure to deal with. The location couldn't be better--the house is literally across the street to the beach access path, and you're right between Kihei and Wailea so it's easy to get the best of both worlds. The house is beautifully decorated, and the kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with equipment. The grounds are gorgeous, and we loved getting breakfast on the patio--lots of songbirds and cute lizards darting around the rocks and trees. There is a nice selection of beach supplies next to the outdoor (heated!) shower.

Jim called me before we arrived to make sure we were clear on everything. While we were there, I called him with a question, and he was easy to contact and very attentive. He even did some research for me and called me back, and I could tell he really cared about our experience.

  • We had a very good time at Keawakapu Beach. The house is spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed being that close to the beach. Jim was helpful answering our questions via email during our stay, and checking regularly if everything was OK.

  • The house was in a great location, just outside of the a very populated area, which provides easy access to Kihei, but still secluded. The house was in good shape, and the management was very responsive to only 1 issue we had... a dead battery in a fire detector.

We had a great time and Jim provided advice for some activities as well. He called and checked on us several times to make sure everything was going OK.

Great visit and would definitely stay there again!

  • We had a great holiday at the Kihei bungalow. Super private, nice and clean and an easy 2 min walk across South Kihei Rd to the lovely Keawakapu Beach. We particularly appreciated the spacious open common area in the bungalow to cook meals, read books or engage our group in a rousing game of cards. The outdoor shower was enjoyed by all. The tennis courts were fun to have, just remember to bring your own racquets.

  • Had a wonderful time on Maui. Jim is a great host. He checked in with us at the beginning and end of our stay to make sure everything was as it should be. The house is very comfortable and ideally located across from a beautiful beach, near Kihei for conveniences but closer to Wailea where it is peaceful and quiet. This is a great option for families or groups who want to stay in an affordable place, spend time at the beach, sit on the lawn, cook at home, and relax in the Maui sun.

  • Jim was wonderful and so accommodating. My husband and I took our parents for a winter getaway. They were so happy and comfortable in this home. The house is just steps away from the most amazing beach. Jim's home is beautifully remodeled and well equipped. My favorite feature was the outdoor hot water shower. Even my 91 year old dad was able to wash the sand off before coming in the house. Thanks Jim for sharing your home.
