I am a recently retired Foreign Languages teacher, married for 34 years, and the mother of two (2) adult children, Jonathan (30) and Marissa (23) who still live with us at home. I speak three languages, English of course, French and Spanish and I also teach English-as-a Foreign/Second language- so I can arrange for an immersion experience for you in Barbados- Learn/Perfect your English in Paradise! I enjoy travelling - one of my favorite cities is Paris, France, reading- I am currently on the latest Lynley Crime novel by Elizabeth George, cooking for family and guests-in fact, all of the family chips in with this- my husband, David, makes a 'Great Cake' which one of our guests described as 'positivitely orgasmic'!
All kidding aside, even though I am new to Airbnb hosting, over these years we have enjoyed receiving guests from all parts of the world! I am also quite active, I attend a nearby gym at least 5 times a week and my husband is an excellent swimmer and enjoys cycling around the island- some of our guests have joined us in these activities. We have a media room at home where we can play movies with subtitles in Spanish/French- and we listen to a variety of music videos- jazz, classical, Luther Vandross is one of my favorite male singers- we often eat out and there are several restaurants which we can suggest to our guests. I organize scuba/snorkeling/swimming with the turtles/party/catamaran cruises and other such activities for my guests and I take them on tours to all the special corners of the island. I also do a walking tour of Bridgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which offers the history 'buff' lots of 'food-for-thought'!
We are actively involved with our church and 'host' a gathering at our house every other Saturday, complete with a fellowship time after the service filled with tasty food and lively conversation!
