Some info has been automatically translated.
This house in Santa Teresa offers a unique and unconventional lodging experience. Located away from the city center, yet easily accessible, you can stroll along the main avenue and explore other historic houses and the charming neighborhood where it's situated.

By renting this space, you will have full access to most of the house, in addition to your own room. It's important to remember that this house is also my residence, so we will be in a shared living arrangement.

The space
I live in a beautiful colonial house situated in the district of Santa Teresa, a picturesque place part of the center of Rio which can be reached within 10 minutes by bus or taxi from the Santos Dumont Airport and from the center of Rio.

It is a fully decorated house with expansive view of the center of Rio de Janeiro and the beautiful Rio-Niteroi bridge and the Maracanã, the football stadium.

My offer consist of a confortable and fresh bedroom with bed, table for working, armchair, tv 32’, wifi. A living-room with a terrace area, a set of books for reading in Spanish, Portuguese, English and French. A fully equipped Kitchen. Downtairs there is a large garden , ideal for barbecue and sipping wine taking in the views on a warm evening.

We do not charge for cleaning and laundry.

Guest access
The entire house, with three floors, one of which is a large recreation room with a barbecue area and two patios, one of which is covered by trees next to part of the Tijuca Forest.

During your stay
I'm usually at home, and I'm open to talk about any topic. As previously mentioned, this is a shared house and my living space. I work here and also use the space. My sister and my boyfriend might also come frequently. Both are also open to talk and give information about anything here.

Other things to note
# Accommodation Rules

- We have different trashcans:
- Kitchen Trashcan (*beside the sink*): Organic/Perishable Foods.
- Trashcans *under the stairs*: Packaging, glass, recyclables.

- During the hottest days, at 7:00pm-8pm (sometimes 6:00) flying termites will enter the house looking for a light source. During this time, please leave all windows closed.

- Close the windows and doors every time you leave the house. If you use the balcony, you must return the cushions to where they were initially placed.

- If you’re returning home from the beach, PLEASE, shake off the sand beforehand. There are public bathrooms around the beaches where you can take a real quick bath. You can also brush off the sand with a towel.

- If you use the kitchen, you need to clean everything that was used immediately after use. If there are utensils that are difficult to wash the first time, you can leave them to soak until the next day at the latest.

- The washing machine is free for personal use. The washing powder is shared but, if you prefer, you can purchase and use your own.

- If you think about bringing another person in, NOTIFY IN ADVANCE! We need to assess the circumstance.

- While you are in the room, keep the bedroom windows open for ventilation (except when it’s termite time). Only when leaving the room, close them. The reason for this is: We’ve had guests who were allergic to dust and/or mold. Unfortunately, even if we maintain regular cleaning, the house is way too old and hard to manage and dust is a constant (keeps coming back after 2 days of cleaning). If by any chance you have allergy, we can arrange something.

- Before your checkout, make sure the guest room is clean and organized.

Hi! I'm Julia. I'm the daughter of Miguel, the previous host of this house, a lovely and charismatic man. I've got multiple hobbies and I'll discuss just about anything. I'm also readily available for assistance: If you need directions, tips, help with anything practical. I'm usually out during the week. It will be a pleasure to meet you! (:
