Gilians Apartment is a compact but really beautifully designed space.
It is as the photos show, very clean and tidy with great details. The entry code is easy to use and makes leaving and arriving simple too.
Its really well located in easy walking distance from the Marais, the Canal, ect ect.
We will certainly look forward to staying there again in the future!
Gilian was a pleasure to communicate with too.
Many thanks Gilian!
My boyfriend and I just spent the weekend at Gilians place. The house was so charming! A unexpected hideaway in Paris in an enclosed area. Interior is just like the pictures, very clean and comfortable, with very cool decor. Even an old scrabble game that we put to great use! From other reviews it sounds like some people had trouble with the codes on the doors - it took a few tries sometimes but no big deal and it was actually very convenient to be able to come in with a code so we had more flexibility on the arrival and departure time. The location was good, with easy access to the metro and walking distance from le Marais and the Pompidou center as well as Montorgueil street. There were lots of clothing boutiques and designer furniture stores and a cafe on the corner. I only wish there were more food and wine markets within the block. Overall great place, I would highly recommend!
A very nice house in the center of Paris, small but with much style.
The Gilian Gasselin was excellent host. polite and very helpful!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The space is great, the house is very well arranged, with beautiful material. Gillian was very accomodating with us and the house is perfeclty located at the heart of Paris, so I would warmly recommend this place for any of those who are still wondering. And about the door system after one or two tries it's easy sleazy!
Two friends and I stayed in this charming tiny house in a convenient Paris location. The house had all expected conveniences, fit together snugly like a jigsaw puzzle. One important thing is to follow the door opening directions very precisely. For us, Americans, the code box entry system was unfamiliar and a bit challenging. Gilian, our host, was very, very accommodating and helpful. We appreciated him greatly. And, of course, we appreciated Paris!
We had a wonderful time staying at Gilian´s little pretty house. Gilian came to welcome us in person and gave us many suggestions on where to find the local velib-stations or a parking place. Highly recommend this place for anybody who is traveling to Paris.
Gilian's home was a perfect retreat. Incredibly quiet, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, good shower, heating good...
Great food shopping just round the corner at rue du Faubourg St Denis complete with covered market at the top of that street (towards the left).
Easy metro trip into town or just walk it.
Again easy metro to Gare du Nord or just a walk.
Would recommend to all my friends.
Thank you, Gilian.
My experience with the house and the host was negative and uncomfortable. I would never rent from Gillian again! The communication with Gillian before , during and after was pretty bad. When I arriave I realize that the information was misleading and I felt tricked. The house rule was misleading. He never showed me the house funtions as it said he would. The day before I was leaving: I was locked from the house from 2pm until 17:45 pm . From 2pm to 2:45 I contacted AIRBNB » » and they contacted Gillian who said that he would be there around 4pm or 4:30pm . When he came , he came with a female friend at 4pm. From 4pm to 4:45 Gillian tried to open the door with no results. At 4:55pm he told me how the situation looks like that he had called someone to fixed the door. At 17:45 the door was fixed and I got inside the house. I was locked from 2pm to 17:45pm. From 4pm to 17:45 expect when Gillian told me how the situations looks like. He spoke with his female friend in French during the entire time and they where laughing and smoking together. I felt like an outsider just standing there and not understanding what they are saying and felt like his friend was the one who was locked out and not me! I was the one in a difficult situation. I was very angry , not only did I paid for a week , but I missed my meeting and was delay with everything and I just had 3 hours of sleep before I was leaving (website hidden) that moment I wanted to leave the house and rent somewhere else! One night After 10 pm Gillian walks through the house and opens the door without telling me or inform me that he was going to enter the house. I felt hurt. I was renting The house for a week and then he walks in and I was standing there. He was in the house for more than 10 minutes and I don´t know what he did in the house , but one thing is for sure he did not leave anything for me as guest or so . After he walks out from the house he tried to change the stuff I had in the house like turning off all the light and taking away the gardins , I said No and he started to say ” Why”. When I came back to the house I saw that he had moved away my stuff . I felt disrespected and hurt that he did not respected my stuff or the way I had in the house. He also mention about my privat stuff it felt like he was looking at my stuff while he was in the house. He once said ” Why are you using your own towel” It was like he had looked at my stuff and saw me using...
I love Airbnb because we can either meet wonderful people, or just renting easily our house. Depend on the guest intentions. Neither in this case. I
did my best to be nice and helpful with this guest. I hope to find better guest in the future. Every other guest is welcome in my house, please read others comments to make you better opinion.
The terrace is perfect. I couldn't have asked for more.
First time in Paris so I was set on doing a lot of exploring after arriving on the Eurostar. A very short taxi ride got my girlfriend and I to the terrace which was exactly as described.
It had everything we needed and a very comfortabel stay. The location was also spectacular as the Subway is just around the corner but we often opted to walk from the house each day. A relatively short walk to Notre Dame & the Louvre and we even walked all the way to the Eiffel Tower. (Not for the faint of heart)
I look forward to staying again in the near future.
