Thank you Susan for allowing us to stay at your house while adventuring through Walla Walla!
We would definitely stay here again.
"The Olive Inn was our home-away-from-home during an October weekend visit to Walla Walla. It was much more than expected, and, as my niece said, it’s deceptively larger than it looks from the outside. It was the perfect size for my husband and me in the double-bed and my brother in the other room in the bunk bed. If my niece had chosen to stay with us in the other bunk with her dad, there was plenty of room for her, too. I do think it would have been crowded with two people on the pull-out sofa, however. There is a nice little living room space (email hidden) and DishNetwork (important since the World Series was going on), a dining area with large table, and a well-stocked, modern kitchen. The bathroom is on the other side of the cottage from the bedrooms, beyond the kitchen (an historic home, I guess); it’s modern and stocked, also.
For October the temperature was perfect -- not too hot, not too cold. The neighborhood was quiet and filled with different styles of old homes. Most had driveways, but The Olive Inn and the house across the street did not so we had to park on the street. That was no problem.
When next we visit Walla Walla, if possible, we hope stay at The Olive Inn again. For our family, it was just right."
We had a great time at the cottage--it was more than roomy enough for a group of four (though as mentioned in other reviews, one of the bedrooms has bunk beds, so the set up might not work for two couples traveling together). Everything was clean and nicely decorated, the kitchen was well stocked (the dishwasher and washer/dryer would be especially nice for longer-term guests!), and the backyard provided the perfect place to hang out in the morning with coffee and in the evening with a bottle of wine. I was worried that the house would get uncomfortably hot given that the temperature neared 100 every day we were there, but the a/c unit kept the whole house cool as long as we left the bedroom doors cracked.
Susan was extremely easy to work with and responded to all my emails right away. I also thought her nightly rate, compared to other B&Bs and property rentals in the area, was very reasonable. I would highly recommend the Olive Inn as an adorable, quiet, and relaxing getaway spot in Walla Walla!
Roomy comfortable little cottage. Pleasant neighborhood and close to everything. The fenced in back yard and patio is a nice place to relax. Would happily stay here again.
How was very nice and clean. There are 2 nice rooms. One has bunk beds and the other a full size bed. The couch turns into a bed as well and is comfy to sleep on. They have a GREAT back yard and BBQ if you are staying for a while. It is in a good location, about a mile from the downtown area and a block from a 7-11 if you need to run out and get something really fast. Overall it was a good experience.
We had an intern stay at the Olvie Inn for nearly two months. A great little house -nicely decorated, clean, fully furnished. Susan promptly answered questions and dealth with whatever small issues whould arise. A little ways away from downtown, which meant our itnern had to do a lot of walking. Highly recommended!
Just got back from a great trip to Walla Walla where we spent the weekend at The Olive Inn. This cute two bedroom home had a great location, where we could easily get into down town as well as a quick shot to numerous wineries. We enjoyed dinner in the back yards both nights. I would definitely make a return trip to The Olive Inn.
The little house on Olive is nicely decorated and had a lovely back patio to enjoy in the cooler mornings and balmy evenings. It was August when we stayed which is a very hot month for Walla Walla. There are two things that I would let people know when renting the unit. The sleeping arrangements (desc. says sleeps 6): One room has a full or double size bed, the other room has a twin bunk bed (hard to travel with another couple and give them that room), the other bed is a collapsable couch which is a bit short. There is one window unit in the home which is in the main living area so the bedroom doors need to be left open at night to be comfortable. These are just things that it is very good to know when planning your stay or travel companions. Also if you are concerned about the lack of pictures, don't be, the rest of the house is as cute as the kitchen! :) Thanks for a lovely time!
This place exceeded our expectations. It was charming and extremely clean. The beds were comfortable. The location was great for us and very quiet. It was really nice to have the pleasant backyard. We would stay here again!!
