The Edgcote (Room #5) is private room on the walk-out lower level of the historic Holladay House in downtown Orange, Virginia. Guests in the Edgecote will enjoy:

* Living in the 1910's portion of the house
* Use of the recently redecorated common parlor, study, and dining room areas
* A combination of historic decor and modern convenience
* Free off-street parking
* Walking distance to all sights in Orange, short driving distance to Montpelier, Monticello, Highland, wineries, and more!

The space
Staying at the Holladay House is taking a step into American history. One previous owner was a grand-nephew of President James Madison, and his daughter's wedding reception in the house counted J.E.B. Stuart among its guests.

There are five other guest bedrooms in the Holladay House: one other on the walk-out lower level and four on the second floor.

Foliage surrounds the Edgcote, giving it a great amount of privacy.

Your hosts live in a suite on the first floor, where also are found the common-area parlor, study, and dining room.

Where you’ll be

Orange, Virginia, United States

Orange is the heart of Virginia's Piedmont region.

From here, you can walk to great shops and historical sites, drive to historic homes, see beautiful horse farms at the feet of Appalachian foothills, visit wineries, breweries, distilleries, and a cidery, and much more.

Or, you can cross the street and sit in a shady park with a beautiful fountain and watch the world go by. You will love it here.
