Next to popular tourist cabin open Sat-Sun 10-15 and Easter.

Tverken is located 456 meters above sea level and is sunny in summer and winter. The cross-country ski crew does a fantastic job and prepares the tracks every day throughout the ski season.

Spring, summer and autumn it is easy for all ages to cycle to the cabin. It takes about 20 minutes from Landfalltjern/Landfallhytta to Tverken and 10-15 minutes by bike back to Landfalltjern. 35 min fast walk.

Finnemarka is full of great hiking trails with a hospitable hiking terrain.

Oslo people also come to Drammensmarka or Finnemarka and say that "this is the closest you come to the mountains without traveling to the mountains!" Fewer people and beautiful nature with a lot of low pine trees and marshes in the hills.

Goliath is well suited for swimming and fishing, beautiful location below the cliffs of Tverråsen. Here caves were used during the war, exciting to visit 7 minutes walk from the end of the water. Or you can take the trail from above Tverken up to Tverråsen (20 minutes walk) or the "climbing trail" with rope at the end of Tverråsvannet up to Tverråsen. Exciting for all ages! Along the Tverråskammen ridge, there are many fantastic viewpoints. Here you can see Drammensfjorden, Gaustadtoppen, Blefjell and Norefjell.

Beautiful Skimten and Storsteinsfjell are other fantastic hiking destinations. From Storsteinsfjell you can see over Lierdalen and all the way to Oslo.

The cabin was built in 1936 and totally rehabilitated in 2013 with new floors, new ceilings, new windows and an external toilet.

Other things to note
Don't touch my organ. Some electricity from the sun, just for some light. Candles and water outside, also for drinking. Pump for 10 hours and the water will be running. Heating with wood. It takes a long time to heat up, but it maintains the temperature pretty well overnight. Fill up wood after use from the outside.
Battery for radio use. Bring your own power bank for cell phones.
Coffee and waffles next door at the tourist cabin Saturday and Sunday 10 am - 3 pm. Pay by cash or Vipps.

I don't want you to touch the pump organ that is 100 years old unless you ask for permission/are a musician for example. It was damaged during transport and is fragile.

The solar cell has low capacity. It is a good idea to bring a power bank for charging your mobile. There are reading lamps by the beds downstairs, lights in the kitchen and in the living room. Please use them sparingly.

The refrigerator can be used, but again, I don't know about/missing experience with the capacity of the solar panel. You can test it out!

I recommend using a battery-powered radio. Turn off after use. The battery is in the cabin.

Candles and wood are in the cabin.
Fill up shelves with wood after they have been emptied.

Start using the wood from the shelf closest to the stove.

Where you’ll be

Drammen, Viken, Norway

There is a large and cozy tourist lodge right next to the lodge. It is open Saturday and Sunday 10-15 except 20.6-20.8. Here it is good and warm and here they sell coffee and waffles, pay with lashes or cash, among other things. Recommend to arrive at the cottage a couple of hours before closing so you can visit the tourist cottage while you heat the cabin.
The gravel road passes just outside the fence, prepared ski slopes in winter .

If you like a cabin with simple standards, appreciate the peace and quiet of the forest, at the same time seeing other happy hikers, this is the place for you.
