You'll have this sunny, quiet, recently renovated third floor suite all to yourself, with kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, and private bathroom. Hosts live on site and are available to help.

We’re in a lively part of Astoria, with plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants to enjoy. After a short walk to the Ditmars N/W stop, the train is 15-20 minutes to Manhattan.

The space
This is a hosted rental with the host present; we live on the lower two floors and your space is on the third floor. Aside from sharing a front door and entryway, the space is completely private.

With two bedrooms, one with a queen and one with a double bed, the space is perfect for families or for friends traveling together. The larger bedroom can be opened to the living room to let in light, or closed off with doors and curtains for complete privacy. It has a wardrobe for storage and a desk for remote work; the second bedroom is cozy with a large closet.

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking including full-sized refrigerator, four-burner gas stove, and dishwasher, and it's stocked with dishes and essentials. Our FiOS internet is very fast for work or entertainment, and the Roku TV provides all the major streaming services (Netflix, Apple TV, Hulu, HBO Max, Disney+). A bluetooth speaker lets you enjoy your own music, and there's a mini-library of quirky NYC guidebooks, histories, and novels to explore.

We have three sons and we'll gladly provide you with any baby equipment that you need (portable crib, high chair, baby tub, toys and books, etc.).

Guest access
NYC prohibits listing full apartments as short-term rentals. Though this property is listed as a room, it is a full guest suite on the top floor of our townhouse. You will not be sharing the spaces described and pictured with anyone else. Our family lives on the lower floors of the house, but apart from sharing the front door and the entryway, the spaces are separate.

During your stay
We live downstairs and are generally available for any questions about the apartment or the neighborhood. We try to be available for your check-in, but a lockbox is available if that doesn't work out.

Other things to note
Access to the apartment is up two flights of stairs, so it's not a good place for anyone with mobility challenges.

We try to space bookings out by a day or more, so we can almost always accommodate early check-in and/or late check-out; just let us know your schedule!

NYC now restricts short-term stays to no more than two guests in a single property; if you need lodging for more, please get in touch. We may be able to arrange a space nearby for additional people.

The kitchen area is directly over our bedroom, so we do ask that you keep activity there to a minimum late at night. Noise from living room and bedrooms is not an issue.

We do not access phones/internet from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday except for emergencies; if you contact us via Airbnb during that time, we'll respond Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Our street is very quiet with minimal traffic, but we're less than a 10 minute walk to just about anything you might need: the N/W subway; dozens of great bars, food trucks and restaurants; an excellent supermarket and wr-hour pharmacy; and more. The neighborhood is famous for its Greek and Middle Eastern food, as well as the nearby Bohemian Beer Garden. And Astoria Park is 15 minutes away with a huge pool, track, and lawn where you can have a picnic with a great view of the Manhattan skyline.

I've lived in Astoria since 2003 and love hosting both friends and strangers. I've got over 10 years of experience doing short-term rentals in this and other apartments, and I love meeting people and helping them feel at home in my neighborhood! We've got three sons (born 2009, 2011, and 2014), so I especially love hosting families and helping connect them to activities and resources for kids. And as travelers, we love to take our boys to see new things, especially to give them a change of pace from their urban life.
