WELCOME TO HANA, MAUI ~ THE LAST HAWAIIAN PLACE

HANA KAI MAUI welcomes you to our beautiful oceanfront vacation rentals on Hana Bay at Waikaloa Beach.

The space
Unit #206 'Puhele' is a 2nd floor Premium Oceanview Lofted Studio with a Queen-sized hind-a-bed in the main living area and a 2nd King-sized bed in the loft. Please note, we do not recommend sleeping in the loft from June - October. The view from the covered deck is exceptional. There's a 2-seat dining table and 2 barstools for indoor dining and an additional dining table on the deck.

Our oceanfront property features exquisite grounds, beachside barbeque, fully equipped kitchens, private lanais, and free wireless internet service. Many of our units have panoramic oceanfront views where you can experience incredible sunrises and moonlit nights while turtles swim nearby in the surf.

As you travel the beautiful Hana Highway through Maui’s untouched rainforest, you will be surrounded by breathtaking views, majestic waterfalls and a lush tropical landscape. Your journey ends as you reach the town of Hana. Here is unspoiled Hawaii, where you can relax and enjoy the true spirit of Aloha.

The Hana coast offers some of Hawaii’s most beautiful beaches. From the black sands of Wainapanapa State Park (reservations required) to world famous Hamoa Beach, you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or surfing close to your doorstep.

Just eight miles away, Haleakala National Park - Kipahulu Division offers great scenery and hikers will enjoy a panoramic hike through the bamboo forest to Waimoku Falls. The trails at Wainapanapa will bring you to fresh-water caves or take you along the coast to spectacular views where you can sometimes see humpback whales as you hike along the cliffs.
Fill your day with a stroll along the beach or find a quiet place to sit and enjoy the unspoiled beauty. Available nearby amenities include horseback riding, tennis, dining out or a relaxing in-room massage.

Hana is a place where one loses track of time, where mystical days and tranquil nights simply unfold. Hana Kai Maui offers an unforgettable vacation for you and your family.

Neighborhood highlights

Hana is known as the last Hawaiian place. Our community is still predominantly Hawaiian. Hana has a rich history and the Hawaiian population in this area once numbered in the hundreds of thousands. Today Hana's population is under 2000, from Keanae to Kaupo, a 40-mile coastal radius. Hana Kai is centrally located and easily accessible. The property is nestled along the North side of Hana Bay at the entrance to Waikaloa Beach. Although we do not recommend swimming (except on very calm days), Waikaloa Beach is wonderful to explore and you can actually walk for several miles on the coastal trail to Waianapanapa State park. Hana Bay is a precious resource to the community and you may see fisherman netting Akule, keiki swimming in the gentle shore break at Hana Bay, dolphins and sometimes whales, and turtles along the rocks or canoe paddlers practicing for an upcoming regatta.
