This small room has a twin bed, desk, chest and chair. It also has wireless internet.
It is the smallest room in a large old apartment. There is a shared bath down a long hallway as well as a half-bath close by. A coin-operated washer and dryer are located in the basement and can be used from 8 AM to 10 PM.
The location is very convenient for walking to Lafayette Park (half a block), Fillmore St. (5 blocks) with its boutiques and restaurants, Polk St. (3 blocks) with stores and diverse cuisines, Union St. (five blocks away - not Union Square) with its pubs and dining venues, and Whole Foods Supermarket (3 blocks).
We're centrally located and many people walk everywhere and enjoy the architectural variety of this neighborhood and its landmark buildings. Lafayette Park is a small park half a block away.
The accommodations are on the hill leading to the park.
There is an exterior staircase as well as an interior one..
Buses are one to two blocks away providing convenient access throughout San Francisco.
My stay at Jay's was simply splendid! The location was unbeatable, the room nice with impeccable wifi connection, and Jay herself extremely welcoming and helpful. Would stay again, 100 %.
Jay provided everything I needed for a great stay in SF - clean room, linens and shared space, comfortable bed, well-appointed kitchen and a warm demeanor. Rate is incredible for the neighbourhood. Hopefully I can stay here next time!
jay was very nice and accommodating. The location was great- close to a lot of things. It was also felt very safe.
However, the house is well worn. The overhead light in my room didn't work and other lights were out as well. The bed is a mattress and box spring right on the floor. When I was there, there were a total of 6 people staying there with 1.5 bathrooms. And although it was tidy, it didn't feel clean- the wall to wall carpeting doesn't help that.
The price though, for this area and the accommodation is more than fair.
Jay is a friendly lady who welcomed me warmly when I arrived. She gave me brief introduction of the facilities in the house and then I started off exploration of the city.
The house is on a high rising ridge with a steep slope outdoor. It is indeed quite a common scene in SF. Walking up and down the hill is at first painful but finally I got used to it. Staying in Jay's house gives me a real feeling of SF resident. The house is a bit old but is comfortable to stay in. The room is big enough for one-person stay. The bed is very soft. The house is quiet most of the time giving me good sleep every night. I used the kitchen to make breakfast and dinners. Thanks Jay sharing her coffee. Last but not least to mention is the high speed 3-access point wifi in the house is impressive and critical to keep me survive.
Jay was so sweet, helpful, and accommodating. The house had everything I needed and I really enjoyed my stay.
It was a pleasure to stay at Jay's as she's a very nice lady with a great house in a great location. The place was clean, quiet and I would definitely stay there again.
This is a great house to stay if you want to be in downtown. The house is very clean and everything was perfect (if you have allergies, she has carpets). I could not be more thankful, because my luggage was lost by the air company and she was really helpful with everything. For sure, I recommend this place!
Jay was very accommodating and helped with figuring out public transportation and getting around when I arrived. The area itself is wonderful (Pacific Heights) and Lafayette Park is incredibly and only half a block away. If you need a cheap place to stay in a nice part of town, this is a great option.
Just got back from a stay at Jay's place, and it was exactly as so many of these other positive reviews have said. The room is small but it was perfect for my needs. Her place is also centrally located near a lot of food and nightclub options within walking distance, which was very handy as parking around there can be a nightmare! That was really the only problem was finding a close place to park there, but that's certainly not a reflection of Jay's place. Jay even offered up some free bread that was delicious, I never had any problem using the shared bathrooms when I needed to, the single bed is small but extremely comfortable, I slept like a baby! Wifi works great all the time, and Jay is extremely respectful of privacy and very helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here, especially for the cost as well!
I really enjoyed my stay with Jay! She is so accommodating, nice, friendly and helpful - she definitely wants to help make your time in San Francisco very fun and eventful! Would absolutely stay with Jay again!
