Imagine: your own private island. Only accessible by boat, with a view of the lakes for miles and where you wake up in the morning to ducks and the rustling of the wind. Plenty of privacy, you are in the middle of nature and imagine yourself in Scandinavia. And that in the Randstad!
Minimum number of nights: 3. During school holidays, can only be rented per week. Price excludes use of a boat, which can be rented separately. Please note: children must have at least 1 swimming diploma!

The space
Island Life has a tiny house, a riverboat and a Bell tent. The cottage is about 30m2. There is a kitchen block with large, double sink, running drinking water from the tap (available until mid-October, then drinking water from jerry cans until early April), a refrigerator and gas stove. From the kitchen window, you can look out over the water and the boats sailing by.
The kitchen table (a sturdy, original army table) is 1.80x0.90 and seats six people. A seventh person may sit at the head. Want to relax? You can do that on the sofa, which is a sofa bed. Two (smaller) children or 1 adult can sleep here. The sofa is 1.20 wide. Is it rainy? Then the two silver storage boxes offer a solution. These are full of... games! From Risk to Rummicub. From Robinson Island to cards. There is something for everyone!
There are French doors at both the front and back. At the back, they adjoin a terrace, where a fireplace and a wooden bench with a table provide a cozy, sheltered seating area. Here you are quickly out of the wind, hidden behind the trees and bushes, and you can see the rippling water in between. A wonderful place.
Through the living room, you enter the bedroom, where there is a double bed with storage space underneath. From the bed, you can look out over the island and the lakes. Never before have you woken up to such a unique view! You can hang your clothes on the original wooden clothes hanger, which is attached to the ceiling with leather straps.
Through the bedroom, you enter the bathroom. The ceiling is not high, but the bathroom is quite spacious and has a hot shower, a toilet (which, very sustainably, is flushed with water from the lakes) and a designer sink with cold and hot running water.
There is also a stylish bell tent on the island. This is nicely furnished with two inflatable mattresses. If desired, two air beds can be added, making the tent suitable for four people. The tent is beautifully decorated and is very comfortable, also in terms of temperature. But the most beautiful thing is the view. When you wake up in the morning, all you have to do is open the zipper to feel like you're still dreaming... You can see miles across the lakes. You see black swans swimming around, a cormorant spreading its wings wide to let them dry and grebes quietly exploring the lake. In the distance, a sailboat sails, a fisherman slowly sails by. Life is beautiful here.
At the bell tent is a terrace with comfortable lounge sofas and a fire bowl. In the evening, you can enjoy yourself here. Sit by the fire, possibly under a warm blanket, and roast marshmallows. Then the most beautiful stories come out!
In addition, we have a stylish houseboat with four sleeping places. During your stay, you choose to sleep in the houseboat or in the bell tent, in addition to the tiny house.
There is plenty to do on Island Life. From chopping wood to fishing, swimming to feeding the ducks, staring at the water to paddle boarding (we have two hardtop paddle boards for rent). For the kids, there are marshmallows to roast, and it is even possible to bake pancakes or pop popcorn over the campfire! In addition, we have a shopping boat (€50 per day) for rent for you, which can accommodate up to eight adults. A fun way to explore the area! Want to take an ultra-comfortable cruise on the lakes? Then you can rent a sloop (with soft cushions) at various ports nearby. We are happy to advise you.
There are several seating areas. A dining table with benches by the cottage, one on the evening sun side of the island, a lounge set at the head of the island and a wooden garden bench on the back terrace. The island measures almost 400 m2. Because it is completely free, there is a lot of privacy and you can even swim around it.

Guest access
You can park (for free) in Vinkeveen. We are happy to show you the way. You will be picked up from Vinkeveen by us by boat and brought to the island. We do this with a large Tuindersvlet, so no problem if you have a lot of suitcases or large shopping bags with you: it all fits! During your stay, you will have access to your own shopping boat (to be rented separately). Are you coming with your own (rented) boat? Then we would be happy to let you know exactly where to find Island Life. After your stay, we will pick you up again by boat and take you back to the parking lot.
Other things to note
Island Life in Vinkeveen is unique: it is its own, free-standing island with miles of views over the lakes. From the beginning of April to mid-October, we are connected to the water supply, so you have access to hot and cold running (drinking) water in the summer months. You can also shower with this. During the winter months, you will use water from jerry cans.

€255 per night. During school holidays, Ascension and Pentecost: €285 per night.
More than four people: €30 per person per person per night extra.
Boat rental: €50 per day (only bookable for the total number of days of your stay).
Summer vacation:
In the period August 3-10, the island can only be rented weekly with arrival on Saturday 03-08 and departure on 10-08.
