Charming renovated cottage in a beautiful stone manoir. The living area is open-plan, light and welcoming. Courtyard, large garden. Short walk on country lanes to Pleudihen village, river Rance and Mordreuc beach. Close by are the walled city of St Malo, medieval Dinan, the beach resort of Dinard and numerous fantastic beaches.
The space
Our ecogîte, is a charming cottage in what was previously the kitchen and staff quarters in a beautiful 200 year old Breton stone house. Newly renovated it is stylish and modern but we left as many features as possible to remind us of its former life. The living area is open plan, light and welcoming and the bedroom retains its original wooden floors and beams and is a lovely calm space.
There are all the mod-cons you'd expect in a newly renovated place, such as new kitchen, washing machine/dryer, TV/stereo, WIFI, etc.
We renovated with ecologically friendly materials where possible. Heating is provided by a lovely wood-burner and a ground source heat pump central heating system. Ecological cleaning products are provided.
The cottage opens onto a private courtyard with outdoor dining furniture and sunloungers and a large park-like garden. The surroundings are tranquil and peaceful.
We have 3 gîtes here at Les Gîtes de La Touche. The other two, Le Chanvril and Le Bois are in a 300 year old converted barn adjacent to the manoir. They sleep 4 and 6 respectively. Together the 3 gîtes can sleep up to 14 and are an ideal location for several families or a large group of friends wishing to holiday together or gather for a special occasion.
The gîtes are set in the countryside in walking distance to the village of Pleudihen, Mordreuc on the river Rance, and coastal paths. Mordreuc has a beach and little port. There are many river tracks close by and forest walks in nearby Le Val Hervelin. Bikes are available to explore the area. By car, it is only 10mins to the gorgeous medieval town of Dinan, 20mins to historic St Malo and 25mins to the beach resort of Dinard, a lively beach resort. The fabulous and unforgettable Mt Saint Michel is only 40mins away and Fort La Latte is one of the many impressive forts and castles in the area. And there are many, many beaches and coastal paths to explore.
