Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Welcome to the Georgiana Slough: a gorgeous, slow-moving and quiet river.
The River House is the only house in the area built right on the water. It's almost like being on a houseboat, and you can fish right from the deck! Kayaks are provided.
Relax, swim, boat, or fish with otters, beavers, sea lions, owls, herons and more!

We are located in the Pacific flyway for migrating birds, so the winter birds are delightful. If you like wine, there are dozens of wineries nearby.

The space
The River House offers beautiful views of the central valley, the diablo range, and surrounding farmland. And of course, waterfront access to the river. The huge deck sits right over the water. Fish for bass, catfish, or salmon directly from the house while relaxing with a book.
As soon as you arrive, you will feel you are in another world.
**
During the winter and spring the area is a bird migration point, with thousands of birds passing through every day. We get sandhill cranes, geese, ducks, egrets, heron, and many many more. We also get marine mammals, including river otters, beaver, and sea lions!
**
Mid-week nature boost: Most people come on the weekends, but if you are able to arrange your trip to be here on Monday-Thursday you will see more birds and wildlife. Most of the river users and boaters come on the weekends, and the weekdays are extra-quiet. It's still great all the time, though!

Guest access
You have the main house, the decks, and the lawn. we live on the west end of the property, which includes the area past the lawn and the garage. We are respectful of your privacy but we do live there so you may see us around.

You have full access to the house, yards, deck, dock and water. The river is public so other boaters do pass by. You will share the docks with us.

Just down river from the house there is a closed trail. Feel free to walk on it as far as you like.

If you need more space ask-we often can accommodate more people.

**Only park on the paved driveway. Do not leave any cars on the levee or public roads.**

Other things to note
We are close to both Lodi and Clarksburg wine areas.
A copy of your ID may be required after booking for legal or compliance reasons.
