The Hideaway has the full Alaskan experience with parkland on three sides, stunning views of the Chugach Mountains through wall-to-wall living room windows, a spacious yard, a dedicated workspace, and all the comforts of home.

The space
The Alpenglow is a classic chalet-style home built in the 1960s. Alaska runs deep into its foundation, with a rich history behind the land, property, and ownership. My partner Nathan and I live in the upper level of the chalet.

The Hideaway is a cozy space with a private entrance in the lower level of the Alpenglow, separate from the rest of the chalet. Modernized and updated while maintaining its Alaskan charm, the real gem is the view.

Watch the Chugach Mountains light up at sunrise and sunset, turning a dazzling reddish-pink in the phenomenon named "alpenglow", catch a bush plane taking off or landing just overhead, or see The Northern Lights dance across the sky in the winter.

The Hideaway has one bedroom with a queen bed, and an additional sleeper sofa with a view in the living room. There is plenty of room for storage with multiple large closet spaces and hangers.

There is only one full bathroom off of the bedroom, so guests sleeping in the living room will need to share this bathroom space.

Full kitchen includes a coffee and tea bar, all the basics, plus a little extra: dishes, silverware, pots and pans, utensils, spices, microwave, cookie sheet, olive oil, salt and pepper, toaster, water purifier, and more.

Other amenities to ensure you feel right at home in the Hideaway include a lock box with keys for easy self check-in, free off-street parking, guidebook for local recommendations, Alaskan reading materials and extra goodies, extra towels, extra sheets, 39" HD TV with Roku, bedroom fan if desired for comfort, free Wi-Fi, and a desk/workspace with a view.
