Located in Southern Shores on Duck Road, just a 1/2 mile walk to the nearest private community beach access. It is tastefully decorated and furnished, with an open floor plan, fully stocked kitchen, a wrap-around deck with a screen porch, a picnic table, a crow's nest, and a bonus game room on the ground floor. A parking pass is provided for the Hillcrest Beach Access and Civic Association tennis and pickleball courts.
The space
The cottage is located just 2 miles from the Village of Duck with its wide selection of walkable restaurants and shopping options, and a path for walking or biking is located just across the street from the house.

• 3 bedrooms –all with Roku smart TVs and memory foam or hybrid mattress - master with queen bed and en-suite bath, bunkbed room with a single over double bunk, and another bedroom with a queen bed
• We provide linens and luxury, heavy weight bath towels
• Fully stocked kitchen with appliances, cooking wares, dishes, and basic seasonings, etc.
• Dining area with seating for six
• Board games, DVDs, and books
• High speed internet
• Wraparound deck with a gas grill and a screened porch with a picnic table for outdoor dining
• Crows nest for relaxing outdoors above the treetops of the wooded lot
• Outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach

• Cornhole, ladderball, and a double hammock under the house
• Laundry room with full size washer and dryer
• Backyard firepit for cooler nights. (You can purchase wood at the local grocery stores, Ace Hardware stores, and Home Depot.)
Guest access
We provide a parking pass for the Southern Shores Civic Association beach access at Hillcrest Drive. The site has 2 showers, toilets, a gazebo, benches and a viewing platform. Beach and viewing platform are wheelchair accessible. A volleyball court has been constructed at this site, as well. We are members of the Tennis Club, so a pass for the courts on Hillcrest is also provided.
Other things to note
PET OWNERS PLEASE READ - Dogs ONLY - must be approved in advance. Please include when booking. 2 dogs maximum. Well socialized, house trained, friendly, adult animals ONLY. There is a $150 pet fee (per stay) for up to dogs. Pet owners must not leave pets unattended in the house for long periods without crates unattended. If your dog is a "shedder' we ask that you reasonably keep up on the hair and DO NOT ALLOW THEM ON THE COUCHES OR BEDS. If you can't keep your dog off the couch, please bring your own pet blanket and clean up any hair before you leave. (We have a lint roller in the kitchen to help you.) Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up all pet waste from the yard. If pet waste must be removed after checkout, there is a $250 removal fee.
We supply the first roll of toilet paper and paper towels, but guests are responsible for needs after that.
Bath towels and linens are provided based on expected occupancy. You must bring your own beach towels.
Propane for the gas grill is on a "pay it forward" system - if you use the last of the tank, please exchange it at a local grocery store, Wal-mart, 7-11, or Ace Hardware. Also, PLEASE clean the grill for the next guest before you checkout. Cleaners do not clean grills.
Beach gear - if you use it, please rinse it and put it back as you found it before you check-out. If you break something, please replace it with something equivalent if not exactly the same.
Loss of tennis or beach access parking pass will result in a $100 replacement fee.
Please indicate the actual number of guests staying when booking. Outside overnight guests not allowed.
Absolutely NO party groups. Family groups only. The minimum age for renters not accompanied by a family group or parent or guardian is 30 years old.
Please leave the house tidy basically as you found it.
If you break something, please let us know in advance so we can plan to take care of it. We have dogs and kids and know that "stuff" happens.
We do ask guests to take the trash carts to the road on the appropriate days. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this.
For ALL stays longer than 2 weeks at least one mid stay “light” clean, for an additional cleaning fee, is required. (Cleaners will come in and clean bathrooms, kitchen -not fridge- dust, vacuum and mop floors. )
All stays of of longer than 2 weeks wil also require a separate Vacation Rental Agreement to be signed immediately after the acceptance of the reservation.
