About This Listing
Three-bedroom, two-bathroom Tudor end unit in Brightwood, DC. Bought in 2010 and fully renovated. Windows in the front, back and side. Garage and additional parking spot. Located in a safe and quiet neighborhood.
This house is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom Tudor end unit in Brightwood. Brightwood borders with Takoma (DC) and Silver Spring (MD). I bought it in 2010 and had it completely renovated.
The house is fully furnished. It has older wood floors throughout, a large combined dining and living room with TV/DVD and a functioning fireplace, two new baths upstairs (one modern, the other one exactly as it looked in 1932 -- but all new except for the vintage bathtub), one large bedroom upstairs, a small guest bedroom, and a spacious corner office. The kitchen has a five-burner gas range and a dishwasher, as well as pinewood floors. The kitchen sink is original 1932. Washer and dryer are in the unfinished basement.
Being an end unit, the house has windows in the front, back and side, as well as small yards in the front and on the side (fenced in). It also has a one-car indoor garage and an additional parking space on the property, right in front of the rear garage, as well as a fully screened-in back porch and an open balcony. There are several direct bus lines to downtown DC. There are a few cafes in the area, as well as two large supermarkets four blocks away.
The rent does not cover utilities. Water is typically $30/month. Gas and electricity in the summer are usually $30/month and $140/month (there are three window AC units); in the winter, this flips around due to gas heating: $140/month and $30/month. An ISP/cable package is up to the renter to contract.
The earliest move-in date is June 30, 2015. The latest move-out date is August 15, 2016.
The minimum rental period is two months, with a preference for longer stays. Please do not contact me for shorter periods.
Guests have access to the entire house, basement, and yard areas.
Interaction with Guests
I won't be at home during the rental period but can be reached via e-mail.
Brightwood is quiet and safe. A Safeway and a Walmart are within walking distance. Silver Spring is five minutes by car. Parkway Deli (also five minutes) is the best NYC-style diner in DC.
There are bus lines on 14th Street NW (half a block away) and on Georgia Avenue (two blocks away).
