About This Listing
Two-bedroom, two-bathroom Tudor end unit in Brightwood, DC. Bought in 2010 and fully renovated. Full kitchen, large living and dining. Windows in the front, back and side. Garage plus additional parking spot. Located in a safe and quiet neighborhood.
This house is perfect for a couple or two graduate students sharing a place. It has two bedrooms and two separate bathrooms as well as plenty of living space.
The house is fully furnished. It has wood floors throughout, a large dining and living room with TV/DVD, a functioning fireplace, a fully screened-in back porch, two recently renovated baths, one large bedroom and one smaller bedroom. The kitchen has a five-burner gas range, hood, and top-of-the-range dishwasher, as well as pinewood floors. Washer and dryer are located in the unfinished basement.
The house has parking space for two cars: a one-car garage accessible through the basement and one open parking spot on the property (facing the alley).
Being an end unit, the house has windows in the front, back and side, as well as small yards in the front and on the side (fenced in). It is protected by a modern alarm system.
There are several direct bus lines to Columbia Heights Metro, Takoma Park Metro, and to downtown DC. The E2/E3/E4 bus line takes you across Rock Creek Park to Friendship Heights Metro and American University. Several cafes and two large supermarkets are between three and five blocks away.
The rent does not cover utilities. Water is typically $30/month. Gas and electricity in the summer are usually $30/month and $140/month (there are three window AC units); in the winter, this flips around due to gas heating: $140/month and $30/month. An ISP/cable package is up to the renter(s) to contract. There is a $2,500 deposit due prior to move-in and a $200 cleaning fee that will be deducted from the deposit.
The earliest move-in date is September 1, 2015. The latest move-out date is August 15, 2016. The minimum rental period is four months, with a preference for longer stays. Please do not contact me for shorter rental periods.
Guests have access to the entire house, basement, and yard areas.
Interaction with Guests
I won't be at home during the rental period but can easily be reached via e-mail and cell phone.
Brightwood is quiet and safe. A Safeway and a Walmart are within walking distance. Silver Spring is five minutes by car. Parkway Deli (also five minutes) is the best NYC-style diner in DC.
There are bus lines on 14th Street NW (half a block away) and on Georgia Avenue (two blocks away).
