Historic exposed adobe warehouse smack in the middle of Marfa.

The space
The Adobe Room is a huge exposed-adobe room transformed into cool, comfortable space steps away from most everything you'll want to see and do in the center of Marfa. There's local Marfa art on the walls, a commercial pool table, a 12 feet wide 4k projection system and great WIFI. There's a coffee shop and bakery in the compound. It's directly across the street from a gourmet natural food store and wine shop, as well as Ballroom Marfa. One block from bars, restaurants, Marfa National Bank, Marfa Hardware Store, Stripes Convenience Store, two blocks from Cochineal restaurant and the St George pool, and much more -- it really is the ideal location in town -- and yet it's private and secure.

"[In Marfa] signage is more often a reflection of the creativity of the business than a guide for the lost or curious. One such place is The Lumberyard, a collection of studios for painters, artisans, woodworkers, and a boot maker —from a car going 20 mph, it looks like lumber might still be stored there. The happening compound is also home to a coffeehouse ... plus the Adobe Room, an unusual Airbnb rental, which doubles as a theater space."

With 100 mbs wifi you can work on the internet or stream on the wall. There's a commercial pool table and a 2-3 person infrared sauna in the unit with light therapy and a sound system. There's also an Audio Technique turntable with records (including some vintage 45's). If you like to spin. Feel free to bring some along.

The day beds / couches and the tables are all on casters so you can configure your sleeping or hang out arrangements any way you like. The standard arrangement is one king bed and two day beds. There are four giant cushions that come off the day beds and can form two extra beds on the floor, too. There's a giant hand-made "ark" (divided into four) for linens, blankets and pillows.

Brand new AC and back up heat system. Roku streaming stick. If you have HDMI input on your laptop you can use it on the big screen.

The kitchen has new gas range and oven and a fridge. There's also a large work table that you can use for whatever project you have in mind. Just don't sand or cut wood indoors.

If you like the convenience of walking around town , this is the place. Make sure you check the area of other listings that say "walking distance" so you aren't stuck on the edge of town.

Other things to note
The Lumberyard complex is right in the center of town but very quiet and relaxed for guests. The Adobe Room is a long-time popular and trusted place to base a great experience in Marfa.

If you are interested in an event or wedding, the Adobe room combined with the Loft (see Loft at the Lumberyard) and courtyard, make for a very unique and flexible location for up to 100 guests. You can rent tables, chairs and dishware for 30 plus on site. Ask for details.
