We call it the bunkhouse at little hill, our small farm/homestead, with sheep, veggies, berries, and fruit trees right on the water in nordland. The bunkhouse is a sweet, private, cozy, out-building, rustic, quiet, easy to bike or kayak in & out of.
bike, kayak or farm stays right on the water...wayfarers welcome, trespassing encouraged!
little hill is our small family homestead, right on marrowstone island's mystery bay -- where we raise organic lamb, clams, oysters, fruits and vegetables. we love to share the place with friends and friends of friends...
join us for a weekend in the bunkhouse, our private rustic out-building: with one queen size bed, a double bed pull out couch and two twin futons it can sleep up to six in its one large sleeping cabin. the bunkhouse has its own kitchen that can look out over the bay, and private outdoor shower, that looks out over our orchard pasture.
Its all very simple, rustic, and beautiful --and there is a ton to do: great beaches a short walk from our place, biking, kayaking, birds to watch, wonderful historic Port Townsend is 25 mins away and Fort Flagler State Park is five miles away for great views and beaches...
We are rustic though. Just the way we like it. The bunkhouse' s gypsy kitchen has a two-burner gas cook top, coffee maker, small oven, fridge and BBQ. Just ask for anything else you need. It has private warm outdoor showers, a composting toilet and heat with a wood stove.
Restaurants: the best nearby is the Ajax – down by the water before you get to Pt Hadlock. Local food, fun atmosphere. Reservations are smart in summer. Farm Reach Café in Chimicum is great for lunch and baked goods. The airport cafe is fun for good ol fashion breakfasts.
In PT, some of our favorites are:
Sweet Laurette Cafe & Bistro
Hudson Point Cafe
Interaction with Guests

We have a four day minimum.
Please help out when you leave:
o Kitchen clean , dishes done
o recycling clean sorted
o Fires out, lights and all heaters off
o Toilet fan unplugged (behind hanging quilt)
if we end up having to clean up your dishes and garbage -- we'll charge your card $20. thx for understanding .

We stayed at Corky & Bills cute little cabin and had a great time... Wish the stay could have been longer! It is well located on Marrowstone island...we brought our kayaks and were able to launch into Mystery Bay right across the road...very convenient! The cabin is well stocked with maps and information about the area, and we were hungry and ready to eat when we arrived...Corky sent us to the Ajax Cafe...wonderful food and atmosphere. We are already talking about going back next year with some of our kayaking friends...
It was as great as we had anticipated. I think the outdoor shower was my favorite part! The compost toilet was no big deal at all. We brought very little with us-the little island store right next door had everything we needed-they even defrosted a huge salmon for us and we grilled it at the cabin. Beaches and cute places to eat out just a hop skip and a jump! We hardly knew Corky and Bill were there either-we felt that there was enough privacy throughout our stay. I was able to pick fresh blueberries one morning as well. Fantastic place!
If you need a place to stay on the island, then this is the place. Lots of character, and very comfortable. I'll never forget showering outdoors, and having the sun literally hit my face - priceless! The compost toilet is very smart although a bit awkward in the middle of the night - not really any different if you were at a park camping though. I especially enjoyed all the eclectic art objects around the cabin - you can tell Corky and Bill have traveled the world.
oh carola! i am sorry about the coffee maker. ys. thank goodness you had your own. ours had just broke! and then i went into the hospital -- and for got about it! what timing! and that light switch craziness -- its been on bills "list" to do. i will ratchet it up. thanks again. stop by -- or stay -- if you are back this way!
My daughter and I had a fantastic time at Corky and Bill's farm cabin. The beautiful location and charming atmosphere far exceeded our expectations as did the hospitality of our hosts. Thank you both for an experience we will never forget.

bill and i bailed from the full time work a day world to focus on little hill, the finca in the winter months, our family and friends, and new grandkids. we have had la finca caribe on vieques for 17years now, and little hill for four. we love both homesteading -- raising our own food (organic lamb and veggies on marrowstone) living simply, and sharing both places with others.
Bill is/was an architect in Seattle, and before that NYC .I've worked most of my life in corporate sustainability and as a creative director in seattle, weird combo I know. But I always wanted to be an innkeeper and a farmer...so now I'm a little of each, and very very grateful...
