Description

The Space

PALAZZO CATTLOICA is a private apartment very well located in the heart of the old city, in a magnificent and aristocratic palace whit a private imposing double courtyard: pretty much the perfect introduction to the decrepit grandeur of the historical center of Palermo.

The magnificent palazzo from the 18th C, magically takes us back to the splendour of another time of aristocratic greatness and a stay within its walls is a unique and special experience

Even though awaiting restoration, the wonderful staircase leading up to the apartment is very impressive with a headless classical statue. There are many stairs to climb to the apartment, but they are shallow, not tiring, and with such a glamorous old staircase, you barely notice the climb. "Despite the 134 steps to get here, the best kept secret of palermo!" (Irene)

The lovely, quiet and sunny apartment is tastefully decorated with many personal artistic touches, with plants and flowers and artistic paintings. "Every items has its history, life and perfect plan in it" (Elena). The apartment is a very haven of peace and you can fell at home!

From the sunny balcony and windows, you can enjoy of a vantage point of view above the lively town of Palermo. Stay in Palazzo Cattolica Art Apartment is a very adventurous and palatial experience!

Interaction with Guests

I live in the same building of the apartment, which is very important in order to be always on hand for my guests.
I have acquired over time the necessary experience to understand what my guests are looking for and need during their stay.
I love this city and I revel in unveiling its most authentic and secret nature to my guests.

The Neighborhood

Palermo can be beautiful but also gritty and suffocating so the apartment offered a wonderful respite.
There are several very good restaurants very nearby and most attractions are within walking distance.
Sheba Remy wrote: "There are leather workers, weavers, jewelers and a vintage clothing and accessory shop which rivals some of the best I've visited in London and NY. The owners of several of these establishments took time to talk to me and to share their knowledge and experiences. I was very charmed by that"

Getting Around

How to get to the apartment from Palermo Airport:
By bus: departures are every 30 minutes (on the hour and on the half hour). Get off at the last stop, central station (journey time: 50 minutes, ticket € 6,20), then walk for about 15 minutes.
By taxi: we have arranged transfers with our driver waiting for you at airport arrivals, holding a sign with your name on (journey time: around 30 minutes, price € 40,00, up to four people).

How to get to the apartment from Palermo Central Station:
By foot: walk through Via Roma until you reach Via Divisi on your right. Take Via Divisi until Piazza Rivoluzione and keep walking through Via Alessandro Paternostro (journey time 15 minutes)

How to get to the apartment from Palermo Port:
Take a taxi from the area inside the harbour as the road to the apartment is very busy and not suitable for walking (price of the taxi journey around €10,00)

How to get to the apartment by car:
Arrive at Corso Vittorio Emanuele, turn right onto Piazza Marina and at the end of the square turn right onto Via Longarini. Follow Via Longarini until the end, then turn right onto Via Alessandro Paternostro.

I am a skipper and I work with responsible tourism in Sicily. I love this city and I revel in unveiling its most authentic and secret nature to my guests. I love travelling and meeting new people during my trips. I have acquired over time the necessary experience to understand what my guests are looking for and need during their stay. I live in the same building of the apartment, which is very important in order to be always on hand for my guests.
One last thing. What am I doing with an Italian tricolored sash? I was simply celebrating the wedding of a good friend!
