THE XIXIM VIBE
The week of New Years Eve is quite festive in the area and is great for people enjoying the celebrations. The rest of the year, Casa Xixim has quiet hours 10pm - 8am daily. Casa Xixim is more than a house rental – it's a fully-staffed, boutique hotel experience. Great for families & quiet groups, not meant for partiers. Max 8 adults, no extra guests, and no guest changes. Casa Xixim was built with the natural surroundings in mind utilizing traditional building practices, modern architecture and permaculture principles. Instead of glass windows we have screened wood louvers that let the cooling sea breeze come through. We feel it's important to point out that this home is not intended for late night parties, loud music at any time, and we don't provide things like TVs in the bedrooms. Casa Xixim's offer is: epic ocean views, charming sea life, breezy palm trees, a few books, a deck of cards, a movie library on our big screen, and an unbelievably amazing night sky. This magical place is all about you reconnecting, rather than disconnecting. We feel privileged to be the stewards of this little piece of paradise and require our guests to honor house rules that ensure we are good neighbors and good earthlings.

1) Beach Suite:
The Beach bedroom is down a short hall off the main living space on the 1st floor. It's adjacent to the pool (but still private) and opens out onto a patio with hammock and then a couple steps down to the sand, and then to the beach. The view is mostly palm trees and a bit of ocean through the trees. The patio wall has sliding wood doors that open up the room. This room tends to be the most social due to its prime location to pool, kitchen and living room.

2) Garden Suite:
The Garden bedroom is down a short hall off the main living space opposite the Beach Suite. It's adjacent to main entrance garden (but still private) and opens out onto a couple steps down to a private garden. This room tends to be the most quiet, and the coolest during the heat of the day. The patio wall has sliding wood doors that open up the room.

3) Sky Suite:
The Sky bedroom is the first bedroom upstairs and opens out onto an expansive patio with a terrace garden and lounge seats. Another terrace sits just opposite the hallway, with garden and lounge seats that overlook the garden and jungle.

Whenever possible we choose to hire local labor, purchase from local farmers, furnish with local crafts and use locally made earth-friendly cleaning supplies. We share our knowledge and experience. We donate to the local turtle sanctuary and work with our neighbors to keep the bay healthy and beautiful.

CASA XIXIM INCLUDED AMENITIES
Your Personal On-Site Staff:
We provide a Concierge House Manager, Private Chef, Live-in 24/7 Groundskeeper, and Housekeeping. While Casa Xixim is an independent vacation experience within a private home, our staff will welcome you upon arrival, keep things tidy and make sure all the little touches are just right. Housekeeping is daily with fresh linens and towels provided approximately every 3 days. Chef service includes 3 meals per day, and groceries are not included. See below for more info.
Concierge Service:
Our concierge provides trip planning support over email (typically two weeks before arrival), will greet you at the villa with a tour, and discuss meal planning. She will provide one additional in-person visit during your stay, will be available over texting throughout your stay, and will facilitate your check-out in person. Our house manager will also be there to greet you, will periodically visit to check on the staff and operations, and will co-facilitate your check-out.
Gourmet Kitchen & Chef Services:
The chef service for 3 meals per day is included with your rental fee BUT grocery reimbursements are paid directly to chef. You will reimburse chef for groceries in cash pesos every 1-2 days as they shop. We generally estimate about 400 – 600 Mexican pesos per person per day, not including alcohol or lobster. Because of our remote location, the chefs shop 1-2 days in advance for your groceries. All meals are prepared and served family-style. Prior to your arrival we will send our menu for you to select your arrival dinner, and first breakfast. Instructions are in the menu. You can meet with our concierge and the chef in person to discuss the remainder of your meal planning.
Body & Bath:
Lather up with our locally made bath products by Yucatan Senses: shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and body lotion—organic, eco friendly, paraben-free, and not tested on animals. Due to our delicate wetlands system we provide all your sudsing needs. Casa Xixim gift sets can be purchased as souvenirs. We ask our guests to be mindful of their water use. Our water is harvested from the rain which means it is precious in supply and is non-drinkable (drinking water provided).
Drinking Water:
Water coolers are provided for guests, and we ask guest to bring their refillable travel bottles. We don't support single use plastic water bottles due to their environmental impact.
Add-on Amenities:
Our Concierge can help you plan activities, tours, in-home masseuse, spa treatments, airport shuttles, car rentals, yoga, etc. We will provide our official Welcome email after booking with all these details and more.
Other things to note
STAFF TIPS:
We hope you will be very pleased with the excellent job our staff does to make your stay the best possible. They often can provide additional assistance and to show your appreciation they do appreciate gratuities from the guests very much. They are very special people and you will have become good friends by the end of your stay. We recommend $16 USD per room per day for the Chefs to share, $8 USD per room per day for Groundskeeping, and $8 USD per room per day for Housekeeping. You may also choose to tip the Concierge House Manager in this same range if they have been especially useful during your stay. All tips are appreciated on your departure day.
EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT
We often have back-to-back guests and are unable to change check-in or check-out time. At the owner's discretion and when possible we charge $70usd per hour, with minimum 48 hours notice and completed payment.
