Need to take a break from social media (there’s no wifi) for a few days? Forage through the woods or watch the birds? Or simply relax and let the forest ground you.

Bake your own pizza at our shared outdoor pizza oven (and connect to our wifi).

We offer workshops in sustainable floral design and practices. Visit floragedfloralsnewross.ca, for list of workshops. Stay and play!

Guests are invited to explore, respectfully forage and take photos throughout the woods.

The space
Comfortable and eclectic, this tiny off grid cabin is centrally located in Nova Scotia. Situated on 32 acres of woodland, the cabin shares the property with a permaculture flower garden and floral studio.

It’s a tiny off grid cabin ideal for one or two adventurous people wanting to experience tiny house, off grid living or permaculture farming, or both. People seeking solitude, a star-filled night sky or a quaint rural getaway in the middle of Nova Scotia will enjoy the cabin. Cook el fresco or enjoy a good book in a hammock on the porch.

I’m happy to share what I’ve learned about these off grid systems designed to simplify life and slow down.

Where you’ll be

New Ross, Nova Scotia, Canada

My tiny cabin is surrounded by woodland. The closest service area is New Ross, five minutes away, where you will find a small grocery store and liquor outlet, a full service gas station, a credit union, and hardware store. New Ross has two restaurants, Vittles and Peasant’s Pantry. Check out Peasant’s Pantry’s pizza made in their wood-fired pizza oven!! Further along is Ross Farm Museum, a living agricultural farm. About 15 minutes in the other direction, is Bulwark Cider, using a blend of Nova Scotia grown apples to make their internationally sold ciders.

You are a 25 minute drive from Chester and the Rum Runner’s hiking trail or hike the two trails in New Ross. The Annapolis Valley, a food and wine mecca, is 40 minutes away. Lunenburg, a UNESCO site, is 48 minutes away.

Hi. I'm retired and enjoy living in the country with my partner. We built a tiny home to reduce our foot print on the earth. Our goal is to grow food, and flowers for our business, Foraged Florals, on our 32 acres of woodland. There are trails great for walking or snowshoeing in the winter. I and my partner welcome everyone.

I will do my best to assure you have a 5 star stay in my tiny cabin.

During your stay

I do a twenty minute orientation on the off grid systems with guests upon arrival. Guests have privacy at the cabin. Should a question or issue arise, my home and farm is on the same property, so I’m just a text or call away. I’m happy to give a tour of the permaculture garden upon request.
