Situated near the picturesque village of Scotlandwell in Kinross-shire, Wild Goose Glamping offers visitors the chance to stay in one of two cosy, well equipped glamping pods on a family run small farm.

Wild Goose Glamping offers guests the perfect place to unwind and connect to nature. Its location makes it an ideal place for walkers, cyclists, wildlife watchers and lovers of Scottish History.

Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills.

The space
Our pods are ideal for a couple but can accommodate 3, with a comfortable queen size bed and sofa bed. Each pod has its own en-suite with luxurious Highland Soap Company body wash, hand wash, shampoo and conditioner.

Both pods have W-Fi

The main bed will have been made up prior to your arrival, with soft cotton towels and a cosy throw laid out on top. Bedding for the sofa bed can be found in a zipped bag under the main bed, along with an extra mattress for additional comfort. We try to match duvet warmth to the time of year, but are happy to supply lighter or heavier duvets on request. Extra pillows can be found in a zipped bag under the main bed.

We are happy to supply extra bedding and towels if your stay is longer than 2 days.

You'll find everything you could possibly need for cooking and eating in the pod, plus a welcome basket with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and a selection of breakfast cereals. Condiments and cooking oil are all supplied.

Fresh milk will be left in the fridge if you have indicated you'll be arriving late in the evening.

A wealth of information about the local area, shopping, restaurants and public transport can be found in the information folder in your pod along with an array of tourist brochures.

Both pods have Wi-fi.

A large enclosed decking at the front, complete with table and chairs, provides a private place for you to relax and enjoy the stunning views.

Each pod has its own charcoal barbecue, supplied with enough charcoal for your first BBQ. A large grassed area in front of your pod, complete with picnic table, allows for al fresco dining.

Edinburgh, St Andrews, Stirling and Perth are all within easy driving reach, giving opportunities for shopping, golfing, beach walks and enjoying Scottish food and drink. The many quaint fishing and seaside villages in the East Neuk of Fife are close by and well worth a visit.

Guest access
Guests can park their cars directly behind their pod, giving easy access to the door. There is a turning area for reversing when leaving.

Guests can use the grassed area in front of the pods for sitting outside.

Other things to note
There are numerous places to eat nearby.

Quaint and atmospheric, Balgeddie Toll Tavern, about 3 miles away is a great place for a relaxing drink or evening meal.

Lochend Farm Shop, 1.5 miles away, great for a coffee and delicious home baking, or a light lunch. Fresh farm produce is for sale, as well as gifts and locally produced meat and organic foods.

Loch Leven's Larder, 4 miles away, has an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, delicatessen and wonderful gift shop.

You'll find a wealth of other restaurants and coffee shops in nearby Kinross in one direction and Glenrothes in the other. Information about these can be found in the folder in your pod.

Neighborhood highlights

Our area offers the visitor a wealth of varied attractions. A few are listed here, but you'll find lots more in the information in your pod.

Loch Leven Heritage Trail, a circular 13 mile traffic free path round Loch Leven provides a unique day out for cyclists, walkers and nature lovers. Places to stop and eat can be found via short detours from the Trail at Loch Levens Larder, Loch Leven Lodges Coffee Shop, and Vane Farm Visitor Centre, or take a packed lunch and sit at one of the many benches enjoying the scenery.

Apart from the Loch Leven Trail which might be a bit long for some, there are many other wonderful shorter walks in the area, notably The Michael Bruce Way, Bishop Hill, Benarty Hill, Lochore Meadows Country Park, East Lomond, West Lomond and Maspie Den to mention a few.

Vane Farm (RSPB) Nature Reserve offers a great day out for nature lovers and wildlife watchers. It boasts a recently refurbished Visitor Centre and restaurant. There you'll find lots of information about the nature trails and wildlife you might see in the area.

Visit Loch Leven Castle, a ruined castle on an island on Loch Leven built around 1300, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567. Daily boat trips to the island run throughout the summer.

History lovers will love Falkland Palace in nearby Falkland, the country residence of the Royal Stuarts. This palace was adored by Mary Queen of Scots and is one of the finest examples of renaissance architecture in Scotland. It's well worth making a day of a visit to Falkland to savour the atmosphere, the old world charm, gift shops and coffee shops. It even has a violin and fiddle shop!

If you're looking for an active break, Kinross Activity Centre and Trout Fisheries has plenty to offer including Archery, Axe throwing and Clay shooting. You'll find watersports and Golf at Lochore Meadows Country Park, and Karting and track days at Knockhill Racing circuit.
