Description

The Space

Quiet, cosy cottage on 14 acre farm (no machinery - just some horses, sheep & hens) on the banks of a river on the wooded eastern side of Croagh Patrick. Just off the Western Way walking trail and the Achill to Killary Harbour cycle path. Only 3.5 miles from the centre of Westport. At the end of a country lane, so no passing traffic.
Beautiful, quiet country walks from your doorstep. Numerous sandy beaches such as Bertra, Old Head, Carrowmore and Silver Strand within ten to forty minute's drive. Just thirty minute's drive to Connemara.
Facilities include wood-burning stove, free broadband connection, TV, stereo, king size bed, washing machine, drier, microwave. Welcome package on arrival.
Guests are free to wander our farm, pet the horses and enjoy our peaceful riverside native woodland area.
This is a superb location for those interested in any form of outdoor activity such as hill walking, cycling, surfing, horse riding, fishing, bird watching or just relaxing with a good book, listening to music and taking a leisurely stroll along the many quiet, virtually traffic-free country lanes here on the slopes of Croagh Patrick. It is also an ideal base for touring the West of Ireland from the deserted beaches of Blacksod in North Mayo, south to Connemara and Galway City.
The accommodation is most suitable for a couple but we can also take a couple with up to two young children. Please ask for details.
Our price is €375 for a weekly stay, shorter stays are €65 per night, minimum stay two nights.

I am a musician, I'm from Belfast and I moved to the West of Ireland recently. I love my music and love performing at various functions and concerts.
I love the outdoor life which includes attempts at running every morning through the beautiful local woodlands here. Also short rows on the nearby river, trampolining, sailing and swimming in the sea with my two lovely girls. I sought the quiet life after a hectic city lifestyle and found this dream home.
This location is a perfect silent and friendly place to travel from and explore all outdoor pursuits.
