“A Quiet Place In Clarkdale” is more than just a comfortable space to stay. Many guests find that this is a retreat where they spend all or parts of their days. This is a place to sit and read, watch our wild birds, or simply relax on our patio. You will be on a quiet dead-end street. Perhaps you will want to relive your day’s hike or contemplate the Indian ruins you saw in the morning. It’s all yours

The space
The guest suite is completely private. It boasts a comfortable queen-size bed. A private bath with a walk-in shower that feels great after long a day of hiking.

We feature 3 rooms and a full kitchen as well as a washer/dryer so you don’t need to bring many clothes with you. The kitchen is fully equipped and you can store food and prepare dinner right here when you don’t feel like sampling our excellent restaurants and wine bistros in Old Town. There is a small dining table at the window that faces Arizona’s fabulous red rocks that you will view over the walled backyard. When the sun goes down you will enjoy our starry nights since there are no streetlights here. The trees in the backyard become a wonderful twinkling light show for your delight.
If you wish to sample our Verde Valley, you will be delighted to find that you are less than 30 minutes away from Sedona, Jerome, 3 State Parks, 2 National Monuments, 2 bird sanctuaries and much more. Did we mention that this is wine country? There are more than 25 wine tasting rooms and several fully operational vineyards here. Clarkdale is a quiet little town, but there is a great deal happening all around it. For example, there is a community college with a vineyard and a maze of hiking trails at the college at the end of our street.
Visit us and you will find that we are an unofficial chamber of commerce for the Verde Valley.

Guest access
Your personal parking space is the graveled area located to the right of the cement driveway. Take the gravel pathway in front of the parking area down and around to the back of the house and then up the stairs to the patio where your entrance is located. Please note: if you are mobility challenged, this property may not be for you. There are stairs involved and the gravel pathway slopes and is not level.

Your private door is opened with a key code that will be emailed to you.

Other things to note
If you are mobility challenged, this property may not be for you. The parking area is loose gravel. The pathway around the house to your entrance is also gravel, not level, and slopes downhill. There are stairs up to the patio area where your entrance is located and there is one step up into your suite.

I am a native Arizonan passionate about what my state has to offer. My husband Dennis and I are both retired. We are birders and love the Verde Valley. We are board members of the local Audubon Chapter, and volunteer for the local Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival, among many other volunteer activities. I sing with the Verde Valley Voices and at our church.
