The space
The Muskie-lounge River Retreat boasts a beautiful rural view in all seasons. Enjoy the peaceful woods, firepit, or fishing the Buckhannon River. The section of river bordering the property is known for being prime muskellunge territory. Within a short drive are the Hampton boat launch, Upshur County Trails (for biking, hiking, frisbee golf, and more), WV Wildlife Center, and Fidler Mill.

If you're from out of town you may also want to consider exploring well-known attractions such as: Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (22mi), Stonewall Resort (31mi), Tygart Lake State Park (45mi), Seneca Rocks (65mi), Blackwater Falls (68mi), and Dolly Sods (72mi). Some of West Virginia's finest attractions, as well as our favorite restaurants, can be found in a brochure upon your arrival.

PLEASE NOTE:
-We frequently replenish the gravel in the driveway; however, it can still be difficult to navigate in the winter. We recommend an all-wheel or 4wd vehicle if the weather is icy.
- We have WiFi via a hotspot and a Smart TV as well as plenty of dvds to choose from.
-Cell phone service in rural WV can be spotty at times; however, we have AT&T and get good service most of the time.

My wife's great grandfather originally built the Muskie-Lounge River Retreat as a hunting cabin. We have recently undergone the adventure of transforming this cabin into our family home. We are frequently making renovations to create a more family friendly atmosphere while still maintaining the rugged mountain environment. We appreciate any thoughtful feedback you may provide.

Other things to note
***Absolutely NO SMOKING or VAPING inside. If you choose to smoke outside, be sure to be away from any open doors or windows and do not litter on the property. Thank you.***

Please do not rearrange the furniture (Chairs in master bedroom may be used on balcony and wooden chairs can be used on deck. We just ask you don't leave the chairs out in bad weather and put them back where they belong.)

Thank you for respecting our cabin. A full list of expectations can be found under house rules. Additionally, there is a checklist titled 'Before you go' placed on the kitchen table. We ask you follow those few steps before your checkout to help us keep cleaning costs low.

My family and I love enjoying the solitude of nature and adventure in the great outdoors. As my family grows I am also trying to build a way for us to enjoy our beautifully simple way of living right in our own back yard. We hope you'll be able to enjoy a peaceful, yet exciting adventure while staying at our cozy retreat. We are always looking for ways to improve and as we gain traction with this business venture we hope you would be apart of our journey. We live close by so feel free to contact us for any questions or assistance and we will always do what we can to help.
