Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, the Bunkhouse at The Lazy Buffalo sleeps 8 guests. We carried over the same rustic charm of our Cabins when designing the 2400 sq ft space. Features include large gathering area, 2 themed bunkrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, spacious kitchen, one of a kind serving bar, outdoor picnic space with grill, fire pit, plus star gazing truck, and old fashion games.

The space
The Bunkhouse at The Lazy Buffalo has gorgeous dark stained floors that run throughout and the walls are a mixture of vintage bricks and various tones of barn wood making the perfect backdrop. The tin ceiling and exposed wood beams bring out the rustic charm.
The LED lighting really brightens up the space and the floors are equipped with ample electrical outlets which is a popular feature for our crafting guests. We provide flat screen televisions, one in the entertainment area and one in each of the bunkrooms.
A quaint entertaining area off to the side has a comfy loveseat, cowhide rug, and vintage iron stove. The kids will have fun counting all the adorable critters hidden throughout the venue. Children can even ride the vintage coin operated horse.
Challenge your buddy to a game of Foosball arcade style with lights and sounds or show off your card skills at the poker table.
Whether you are serving up a special meal or kicking back with friends with your favorite beverage, the bar top area named “Jack’s Mule Barn” by our grandkids is sure to be a popular spot. Cook up a homemade meal in the spacious kitchen complete with oven & stove top, fridge with ice maker, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and cooking essentials.
Cozy up for the night in one of the two themed bunkrooms which sleep up to 8 guests. Each bunkroom has four twin sized beds with climate control and luxurious linens to keep you comfortable plus each bunkroom has its own private bathroom with huge walk in glass showers and a stylish vessel sinks sit atop vintage dressers. Our Cabins at The Lazy Buffalo can be added to your reservation for additional sleeping accommodations (fees will apply).
During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and Wi-Fi or unplug and take in the beauty of the nearby Wichita Mountains from the covered front porch. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly beautiful.
At dusk, gather around the outdoor picnic tables and cook up burgers from the charcoal grill. Yummy marshmallow goodness around the fire pit is a great way to cap off the evening or relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing pickup, located just a short walk from the Bunkhouse. On property, we also have fun recreation like horseshoes, disc golf, tetherball, giant Connect 4, volleyball, and an interactive music wall in nature.
Nestled along the foothills of the mountains, we are located just three miles from the entrance to the Wichita Mountains. The Wildlife Refuge preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking.
A paved bike lane joins the property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. At less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park, there's plenty to see and do nearby.

While we do not provide daily housekeeping, we can replenish towels every 3 days. We have a guest laundry on the property that is open from 4pm to 9am daily. The guest laundry has a coin operated washer and dryer. The laundry room is shared with other guests.

Guest access
This listing is to reserve the Bunkhouse at The Lazy Buffalo. The bunkhouse is separate from our Cabins but located on the same property.
Our 24 hour guest laundry room is shared with other guests along with outdoor areas and parking lots. We live just up the driveway and are available should you need anything during your stay.
A few areas that we use for storage are locked for your safety.
THE PROPERTY
In 2019, The Lazy Buffalo opened with 5 vacation rental cabins. These cabins were designed to capture essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.
In 2021, The Venue with Bunkhouse at The Lazy Buffalo opened. We carried over the same western vibe when designing the 2400 square foot space.
July 2022 we opened 3 additional Cabins on the same property and completed 3 more Cabins in March 2023. At the end of 2023, we opened our first set of pet friendly Cabins at The Lazy Buffalo. These cabins are individually themed as well. All together, we can accommodate 49 guests in our 13 Cabins and Bunkhouse.
Conveniently connected by sidewalks, it's just a short stroll between the Bunkhouse, the Cabins, and 24 hour guest laundry. Both our cabins and bunkhouse have outdoor gathering areas complete with picnic table, charcoal grills, fire pits, horseshoes, board games, and star gazing area with loungers atop of vintage flatbed truck.
Other things to note
EVENTS: This space can be reserved for special events. Please contact us directly for Event pricing. All events must be approved and additional fees will apply! The Event space will accommodate 65 guests and we do have tables & chairs available for rental.
ADDITIONAL FEES: Folding tables, folding chairs, and the projector with screen are additional fees. Please contact us if you would like to add any of these items onto your reservation.

NO SMOKING: No smoking is allowed within 30 feet of The Lazy Buffalo. We want everyone to enjoy fresh clean air during their stay. If signs of smoking are found, your security deposit will be forfeited.
REMOTES: Please leave all remotes in the Bunkhouse. There will be a $50 fee deducted from your security deposit if the remotes are removed.
BNB: Breakfast is not provided. There are great local and chain restaurants nearby. We do have a full kitchen.
