Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
FlashysRetreat is a three-storey 'off-grid' cabin for 2 people, built in the tiny house tradition, in private woodland, only a short walk from the parking.

'Off-grid' doesn't mean without facilities - FlashysRetreat has mains water, instant hot water, electricity. 'Off-grid' means:- you're in the 'wild'. Horses neigh! Owls hoot and bats flitter by in the dusk!

Here, nature is in abundance, giving you a chance to retreat, relax and recharge. Leaving you to your own imagination.

The space
As a three-storey woodland cabin FlashysRetreat offers a fairly unique living space. We regret that this may not suit everyone. You need to be a little bit nimble in a small space.

The first floor offers a compact living space, with kitchenette and en suite, and features double doors opening onto a large balcony.
- The kitchenette provides for the domestic essentials. In addition to a kettle and toaster there is a small refrigerator with ice box, an electric induction hob and a small electric oven.
- The "en suite" features a shower, toilet and hand basin.

The loft, which is only accessible by a ladder, provides space for a reading nook and a sleeping deck with double, natural cotton futon mattress.

Below, on the lower deck is a space for outdoor dining. A firebowl to provide the 'flicker of a flame' for those evenings sitting out and a fire bowl style / Weber charcoal grill for wild cooking or toasting marshmallows.

Also available is an Ooni Koda 12 gas Pizza Oven - which is available on request.

Guest access
Enjoy the outdoor space at FlashysRetreat to grill and sit by the fire bowl. Walk down to the river and enjoy the sound of rushing water or walk around the woodland nature track and watch the wildlife. Go further a field, down the public right of way to Birchfield Farm for an ice-cream, coffee or a café meal.

Other things to note
This is a private farm and guests are expected to show respect for privacy and property. Tread gently and quietly and nature will reward you with a wonderful experience.

There's now an Ooni Koda 12 Pizza Oven with gas burner, which can be borrowed for your stay. So get creative!

Where I went to school: England
My work: making a difference
Sometimes there's something important that you just have to do. FlashysRetreat takes me back to childhood, making treehouses on the farm. Only, when you do it 40 years later you're better equiped. I hope, when you stay, that you can feel the same passion for this tiny space. Although I live elsewhere, I still 'live' at Throstle Nest and can ensure that you have a great experience.
