West Manor is a piece of Kelleys Island history with all the modern amenities you will need to enjoy your stay. This spacious 3 bedroom 3 full bathroom 1860s house is awaiting your stay. The downstairs features a brand new kitchen and two separate living areas. There is also a large covered porch and a big yard with a fire pit. We are located in the heart of Kelleys Island on Division Street, half a mile from downtown and .8 mile from the public sand beach.

The space
West Manor is a beautiful historic home built with native stacked limestone circa 1860. This house is located in the heart of Kelleys Island Ohio with easy access to trails, downtown, and a freshwater beach. The house was built circa 1860 by Paul and Franceca Kromer, who purchased the land from George Kelley.

In 1867, the house was purchased by Uri Ward, a district representative to the Ohio legislature. After his term in legislature, Uri returned to Kelleys island to farm and cultivate his vineyards.

Circa 1940, Lester and Henrietta Beatty acquired the house and ran a tea room out of the parlor. In 1980, Gerald West bought the house and spared no expense to restore the house to its original era.

In the summer of 2020, our family bought the home with the goal of bringing this historical gem back to life. We added many modern conveniences and created a warm home to share. West Manor is available to rent on a weekly and weekend basis according to availability.

Hello, we are the Katie and Jon Shoemaker, owners of West Manor on beautiful Kelleys Island. The island has been a special place for us for many years. Katie grew up visiting the island during annual camping adventures with her family. In 2008, her parents retired and purchased a home on the east side of the island. That is when she first introduced me to Kelleys. In October 2010, we were married on island, and we now have two boys that love to come to Kelleys as often as possible. We live in downtown Chicago, so Kelleys Island offers us a respite from city life. It gives our children the chance to run barefoot and connect with nature. Kelleys makes us relax, slow down and take a breath...something that is needed these days more than ever. In the summer of 2020, we were fortunate to buy a vacation home on Kelleys Island for our family to enjoy. The home was built in 1860, and is constructed of stacked limestone that came from the quarries on the island. In the 1980s, a man named Gerald West purchased the home and meticulously restored it to its former glory. It was his deep love of the home that inspired us to name the property West Manor. We took over where Gerry left off and spent the summer of 2020 upgrading the house to give it all the modern amenities you could ever want, all the while keeping the vintage charm of the home. The result is a truly magical place that we knew we had to share with others. We can't wait for you to see first hand the beauty and charm of our island and our home.
