About this listing
Rise & Shine is a wonderful guesthouse located in Katwoude, a tiny village just 15 car/busminutes away from the Amsterdam centre. Originally, it was a farmer's house, now renovated into a comfortable guesthouse, with 3 double bedrooms,a spacious fully equipped kitchen, seperate toilet and bathroom and enough space to relax and unwind. We just renovated the house and everything is spic and span. An extra double bedroom, is recently created on the first floor, so we can accomodate up to 8 guests now, for larger groups and families.
Situated at a dead end road, Rise & Shine is just surrounded by other farms and meadows with far views, Dutch cows and loads of Dutch light coming in the house. As a guest, you have your own outside space where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful view. Rise & Shine is the perfect spot for short stays in the Amsterdam areas, without having to sleep in the hectic of the city and close to famous old Dutch villages such as Volendam, Marken and Edam. And if you want to visit Amsterdam the bus stops 1 minute from the holiday house so you can hop on and within 20 minutes you are in the centre of Amsterdam (even during the night the buses ride!). We also allow people to stay for longer periods with a maximum of 3 months. We offer free wifi, free coffee/tea, (alcoholic)drinks to purchase at good prices. We have children’s furniture & toys. Pets also welcome. Also, it is possible to rent a bike so you can discover the surroundings the Dutch way.
So, if you want both the Amsterdam bubble and the tranquility of Dutch nature; Come over!

Totally amazing. The place was huge, bright, clean and overall wonderful. Great to look out onto farmland and see cows. Surprisingly very easily accessible by transit and to/from Amsterdam. One of the best places I've stayed in by far!
Le lieu d’accueil est agréable mais quelque peu plus vétuste qu'il n'apparait sur les photos.
We were a family of 5 and there was plenty of space. The location is great being close to Amsterdam but out in a quite rural area. Far better for families than being in the heart of the city in my opinion. House is old but clean and comfortable.
This place was huge and at a perfect location for visiting Amsterdam; the buses come frequently and it's a short trip into the heart of the city. It is in a safe, rural area on an idyllic canal across from grazing cows. The actual house matches the photos and there are basic cooking supplies, including some oil and spices and coffee and tea. One of the beds is adjustable. This was a perfect choice for our trip to Amsterdam.
Our family of 6 have a pleasant one night stay at Rise and Shine. The house is clean and neat. Fre was very helpful despite our numerous queries. We needed an extra night stay and Fre introduced us to Jan. If you are a foreigner touring Amsterdam, best to get the Amsterdam Regional tickets at 13.50 Euros. Per bus trip from Amsterdam to Waterland costs us 7.50 Euros and vice verse.
Sweet and small house, exactly as described! Surrounded by nature as you would imagine it im the netherlands but only an easy 20 minutes ride from the heart of the city. In some rooms you can not open the windows but that is just the price for to stay in charming house like this. Fre is a very nice and easy host.
