This is a large self-contained studio, with it's own entrance from the lower deck of our Raglan home. It includes a private bathroom, and basic kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge - PLEASE NOTE, NO STOVE TOP. Access is by walking down our short (but steep) driveway, as well as some landscaped stairs to the lower deck. The studio is quite private, with outlook being mostly bush, and Mt. Karioi in the distance. It's a 10-minute walk down to the town centre, less than one km away. The room sleeps a maximum of 3 persons (1 double bed, 1 single).
• electric kettle
• cutlery and crockery
NOTE: Some phones seem to receive a weak Wi-Fi signal from downstairs. Certain areas of the room have better reception, so please let us know right away if you have any issues.
The property slopes down from street level. Parking available beside our letterbox. Please don't drive down driveway, the lower parking bay is not for guest use. The room has its own entrance, accessed by walking down the short (but steep) driveway and some landscaped stairs to our lower deck.
Shared spaces include: lower deck area, laundry room and washing line (no dryer).
Interaction with guests
We’d love to help you get to know Raglan. We can provide lots of information on what’s happening in town, places to go and things to do - and of course… what the surf’s doing! As we both work from home, we’ll be around most of the time, in case you need anything. We do however respect your privacy, and are happy to give our guests plenty of space.
Other things to note
We really appreciate knowing in advance when to expect your arrival, so please let us know, and keep us informed of changes. We plan our activities of the day around your expected arrival time...
We generally pencil check in for 3pm or after, and check out by 11am, but can often jiggle that around. So let us know your plans, and we can finalise your arrival details.
We have a cat who can be quite entertaining, when she appears. We also have friends and family that occasionally visit. But for the most part, our home is very quiet and relaxed. Please note our property, including the outdoor areas, is strictly non-smoking.
We’re very ‘resource conscious’ in this house. The planet will appreciate it if you can also be aware of this yourself, and minimise whenever possible : )
NO SMOKING: The entire property is strictly non-smoking, if you, or anyone with you, is a smoker, we kindly ask you to book elsewhere. Sorry, but we feel quite strongly about this.
CONSUMPTION AND RECYCLING: We try to reduce our household waste through the products we purchase as well as composting, and recycling wherever possible. Please help reduce waste in our region by sorting your rubbish into waste, recycling and compost.
GENERAL CONSERVATION: We’re also very ‘resource conscious’, and appreciate any efforts to minimise your own footprint - not just during your stay with us, but always : )
CLEANING FEE $10: We appreciate guests who leave the space 'as found', and base our small cleaning fee on this premise. We're glad to say most of our guests are very tidy, and do indeed leave the room as found.
From Dec 22, 2017 - Mar 04, 2018 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
My partner Tonya and I are both well travelled, and like to get away whenever possible which is how we discovered AirBnB. We both love being in Raglan and are lucky enough to be able to call it our home, living in a house that I relocated and rebuilt over the last decade or so. It’s a magic little spot, our paradise, and we’d love to share it with you… just message me if you want to find out any more about us or our listing. Cheers – Ste’en and Tonya.
