The space
The Rainforest Nest is an ECO HOME with 6 unique Nests and a living roof. This Nest is cooler than most indoor spaces as the roof cools the house even on hot days.

Once a US Navy officers' residence, it's now transformed by surfers and yoga practitioners, each Nest offering peace and a deep connection with nature.

Saya Nest is your whimsical retreat on the 1ST FLOOR. There is one designated PARKING spot for Saya Nest in the front of the house.

The famous FRUIT BATS of Subic Bay now live in the tree directly above our house, so you will see, hear, and smell them when you arrive.

Saya Nest is an approx 40 sqm apartment. Upon entering the unit, you will find yourself in the LIVING ROOM, which is separated from the kitchen by a bar. There is a sliding door which leads to the side yard.

The side yard contains a BATHTUB, and OUTDOOR dining area. There is ample parking here for several motorcycles.

The BEDROOM is equipped with an air-conditioner, and ample shelves for clothing and luggage.

The BATHROOM is small, but functional. This is our favorite bathroom, which features an arched divider.

The bathrooms have great water pressure, and HOT and COLD water. All our soaps are ECO-FRIENDLY, and are for sharing. The LIVING ROOMS are stocked with books, games, and NETFLIX for your enjoyment. WORKSPACES can be found around the house for remote work.

The KITCHEN is spacious, is fully equipped (except microwaves) and includes SELF-SERVICE breakfast. The water is POTABLE, and most residents drink from the tap. There's a four burner stove for cooking, and a couple of pots and pans. There is a toaster, rice cooker, and a kettle and FRENCH PRESS for your morning coffee.

Guest access
Saya Nest with living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, bathtub, and side patio is your private home for the duration of your stay.

The BEDROOM has two large beds with ample beddings for 4 guests. Towels are provided for each guest.

The BATHROOM has great water pressure, hot and cold water, and a bidet!

The KITCHEN is fully equipped (except a microwave) and includes self-service breakfast that includes champorado, SOURDOUGH bread, peanut butter with cacao, fresh fruit, eggs and our very own blend of premium local COFFEE. The water is potable, and most residents drink from the tap.

This house is equipped with two FIBER INTERNET providers with STARLINK as a backup. Because we live in such a woody area, sometimes our internet connections are disconnected by monkeys or falling trees.

The PATIO is fenced in, so your dogs can run off leash. The BATHTUB looks out to the forest, and has hot and cold water. An outdoor table and BARBECUE grill are available for your use, and there is a HAMMOCK on the porch when it is not rainy.

The LIVING ROOF keeps the space cool, providing cozy nooks perfect for reading, blogging, or enjoying the treetops and FRUIT BATS. When watching the bats for long periods of time, be mindful that their droppings might fall on your eyes or your mouth.

Rainforest Nest guests can access a nearby POOL for a fee on weekdays only. A LAUNDROMAT, a couple of convenience STORES and a small EATERY are just up the hill from our Nest.

VALUE ADDS:
>Free self-service breakfast items
>Porch access with exercise equipment
>Exclusive perks from partner establishments
>Discounts for 2+ nights
>Baby crib and high chair available by reservation for a fee

DISCOUNTS
Our guests often regret not booking longer, so we've added in discounts for stays of 2 nights or more. The longer you stay, the bigger the discount. Treat yourself to that extra day!

DAYTIME GUESTS
We charge a daytime guest fee of P500 per guest. Please let us know if you will be entertaining guests in our Nest.

CONDENSATION
Due to the green roof we have installed on the house, and the high humidity in the area, when the air conditioners are on during the rainy season, condensation collects on the walls and ceiling of the bedrooms. To avoid this happening, we suggest guests limit the use of air conditioners, open the windows, and enjoy the cool rainforest air.

SHOWER
There is only one bathroom, and large groups tend to splash a lot! The shower design is not the best for messy bathers, so some water sometimes ends up on the wrong side of the bathroom.

WORKSHOP
We have a small workshop in the corner of the house, near the road. You may hear some minor work going on there in the weekdays, but it’s mostly used for storage.

THE HOUSE
Our home is an old Navy stilt house. The entire house is split into 6 AirBNB units. The house may be old, but it was built by the US Navy to withstand air raids. It's extremely sound, and newly renovated.

REBOOKING
In line with our firm cancellation policy, we do not allow rebooking less than 2 weeks before your stay.

CLEANING AND SHEET CHANGES
In our effort to reduce unnecessary use resources, cleaning and sheet changes are conducted every 3 days for longer stays. Should you want your sheets to be changed daily, this can be arranged for an extra cleaning fee.

PETS
Please CLEAN UP after your pets. For guests booked in Opal Building and Rainforest Nest, the Crown Peak Management is imposing a P5,000 waste fine in common use areas such as, and not limited to, hallways, parks and sidewalks within the Crown Peak area.

ACTIVITIES
Subic has great activities for all types of groups and individuals. Booked guests have access to our guide book for things to see and do around town!

Neighborhood highlights

Cubi is one of the residential hills in Subic Bay. It's overlooking the water and it's a nice place to walk around to see the monkeys and watch the sun set on The Bay.

There are a couple of convenience stores nearby where you can get simple meals and basic necessities. For other needs, there are a few groceries and markets in Subic Bay CBD (Central Business District), about 15 minutes drive from the Saya Nest.

Cubi is also a great place to watch for birds, bats, monkeys and other wildlife.

For the adventure seekers, there is a nearby waterfall that is about 20 mins hike from the apartment (go to Pamulaklakin or El Kabayo for a guide to the nearest falls). You can explore Cubi on our bamboo bicycles for a rental fee of P250/bike/day. We have some bikes available.

There are several beaches nearby. Our favourite beach just a short drive from Saya Nest, Camayan (15 minutes drive) is a nice beach with a restaurant.

For scuba diving, Subic Bay has some nice wrecks. Summer is the best time to go when the water is clearer. Camayan has a dive shop that caters to both beginners and advanced divers.

We highly recommend a speedboat day trip to the nearby coves. The dock is just 10 minutes from the house and it's the quickest way to go see the nearby beaches. More info in our guide book, which you can access once your booking is complete. :)

For snorkelling and Island hopping, we recommend Zambales. Just an hour drive away, a good day trip is island hopping to Capones Island Lighthouse with a stop over at Camara Island for some snorkelling and lunch on the beach. The jump off point is Pundakit in San Antonio, Zambales. Let us know, and we'll connect you with our friends who have a boat there. Pundakit is also a great place to find surf from June-February.

We love camping and good times on the beach with easygoing people. We keep to ourselves, so you won't see us or our team unless we are needed. We'll give you your privacy while you're staying at our Nest. We clean up after ourselves and respect the locals. :)
