Casa Federico is located in the lively rural town of San Miguel, on the opposite side of Lake Petén Itzá a 5 min boat ride from Flores. It’s easily accessible by boat and a short 10 min walk or Tuk Tuk ride. At the edge of town, it offers a secluded escape, surrounded by nature and birdsong.

Casa Federico is my personal home I open to guests who value tranquility, independence, and adventure. Designed for travelers who care for the spaces they visit, it invites you to unwind and slow down.

The space
Casa Federico is a retreat designed for those who cherish both nature and comfort. It’s the perfect place to disconnect, unwind, and make yourself at home. Here’s what you can expect:

Peaceful Jungle Setting – Tucked away in nature, it’s the ideal spot for reading, writing, or simply slowing down.

Modern Comforts – Designed with care to offer you the best of both worlds: a restful and rejuvenating stay away from the busy island of Flores while still being only minutes away from the island and town.

Nature at Your Doorstep – Enjoy birdwatching from your hammock, stargazing from the terrace, and the soothing sounds of the jungle surrounding you.

Easy & Scenic Access – Just a 10-15 min walk to the boat dock, connecting you to Flores, Tikal, and more - no car needed. And if you feel lazy, Tuk Tuks can take you up to the house or down to the boats.

A Home for You – Casa Federico runs on the principle of guest independence. Essentials are provided to get you started, and from there, you’re free to enjoy the space just like at home.

I believe in the principle of trust. I trust you with my home while trusting that you will treat it as if it was your own.

Where you’ll be

Flores, Petén Department, Guatemala

Nestled on the tranquil side of Lake Petén Itzá, Casa Federico offers a serene escape amidst lush jungle surroundings. Here, you'll experience a less touristy side of Guatemala, where the rhythms of rural life prevail. The town is small and peaceful, with only few restaurants and street food vendors, but its charm lies in its simplicity and natural beauty.

Perched above the lake, it serves as the perfect gateway to the archaeological site of Tayasal and the Maya Museum as well as various secluded beaches ideal for a day of relaxation.

Despite its seclusion, the vibrant island of Flores and the city of Santa Elena are just across the water, easily accessible by a short boat ride.

This unique and safe location offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful retreat immersed in nature, with the conveniences of urban life just moments away.
