From the creators of Sugar Republic giant candy museum, the Sweet Retreat is a stunning, light-filled home in the heart of Daylesford.

The space
Inspired by a love of iconic Australian snacks, our house has four uniquely styled bedrooms - Peaches, Sugar Love, Tea & Biscuits and Lucky Rainbow. Each bedroom has direct access to the extensive outdoor decks and garden. The living spaces are just as unique, with a pink kitchen, cosy retro lounge and a dining area with original Milk Bar art by Melbourne artist Callum Preston.

There is a central bathroom with a shower / freestanding tub and a laundry as well as an ensuite shower room in the Sweet Love room.

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and baking, with everything that you might need. Watch the sunset from the raised garden deck with a wine or two, and you’ll soon forget your cares.

Whatever the weather, there is plenty of outside space surrounded by roses, fruit trees and blossom, including a covered verandah and a large pergola.

The kitchen, living and dining areas are air-conditioned, as is the Rainbow bedroom at the back of the house. The other bedrooms have fans during hot weather, although they don't get much use as the house is almost always cool being close to bush and forest. During autumn and winter the whole house is well heated, cosy and snug.

The house is decorated with art and props from Sugar Republic, including giant sweets, rainbow hangings, neon installations, art prints and wallpaper. So many photo opportunities for your ‘gram! You’ll feel like a child again, with DVDs, retro board games and magazines to pass the time. There is even a peachy ball pit to delight adults and kids alike, and scratch n' sniff cherry wallpaper.

Well behaved dogs are welcome! The garden is securely fenced to keep them safe. There is a $40 cleaning charge for guests bringing dogs.

Unfortunately the house is not accessible to wheelchairs as it has steps at all entrances.

The Sweet Retreat has parking for 2 cars plus street parking.
