Stay at the century old Jacobs Ranch Homestead, which is a 250 acre working cattle & horse ranch that is nestled in the mild climate of the North Fork Valley in CO. Host has her own entrance to basement apartment. Home features extensive Western, Indian art. Wildlife is plentiful. We have a variety of rooms for you & your family to choose from, King room suite,
2 Queen rooms & a Twin Bedroom. Pets and horses are welcome. You are welcome to cook in the small kitchen.

The space
The ranch house is ready for you to work remotely. Guest also enjoy relaxing with a book, sipping local wine or traveling down slow country roads. We offer 3 bedrooms ranging from a large master king suite, a queen bedroom and another smaller room with a twin bed. All have breathtaking views. The king suite is perfect to do yoga in while you stare at some beautiful views of the area.

The living room is inviting for board games or simply just visiting with friends. In addition, there is a large screen TV with cable and Netflix. The kitchen is full of spices and cooking pots and pans. Separate dining room is big and roomy. A BBQ grill is available to grill up your dinner.

Ample parking for RVs and horse trailers. You will be sharing the house with the host. No smoking inside the house. 420 Friendly.

The Homestead is great for family gatherings, a honeymoon night, special birthday celebrations, or a girl's weekend. We can accommodate horses and dogs.

The Homestead is three miles from the small town of Hotchkiss, Colorado. It prides itself in being called the "Friendliest Town Around." The bustling art coop sells local art, hosts summer farmer's markets and live music events. There are a variety of artist classes to participate in.

Area activities when in season include paddle boarding, river rafting, fishing on the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River. Also the Grand Mesa makes for an inviting outdoor playground. There are 300 lakes on the mesa for summer or winter exploring. Winter activities include snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and skiing at. 2 hours to Telluride, Aspen, Silverton which is all WORLD CLASS SKIING!

Award winning vineyards are nearby, as well as organic fruit & vegetable stands galore when in season. The area also offers winter and summer hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ATVing and biking...

Did we mention to drive your sports car or motorcycle here? Renowned scenic byways are waiting for you to explore. Drive to nearby towns like Aspen, Telluride, Redstone, Ouray, Crested Butte or Glenwood Springs. All fabulous towns for shopping, fine dining or natural hot springs soaks.

Paonia, Crawford, Cederage and Delta are neighboring towns. All have a special vibe. Strong art and holistic healing community. Paonia is the home to the International Solar Institute.

We have had guests come visit and return back the next weekend to purchase their ideal retirement spot. The combination of affordable prices and a mild climate makes for great place to call home.

Guided fishing & hunting trips are available. Two year-round golf courses are only 20 miles away.

We are three miles from the famous Eagle Rock Archaeological dig. Some of the finds have been dated back 13,000 years. Making it one of the oldest finds in the United States. It's only a mile hike from the parking area.

Numerous canyons are thirty miles away. An old swinging bridge leads over the Gunnison River and is a great spot to sit and paint. Some of the canyons still have old cattle rustler corrals. I love to ride my horse or hike these trails.

Another favorite is the Dominguez Canyon Wilderness Study Area. It has lots of red rock formations. While hiking you can see petroglyph carvings on the rock walls. In the Spring, when the snow is melting there are little pools of water and waterfalls. It's a dogs paradise.

Trails galore to walk your dog or ride your horse. Extra care has to be made with dogs around the livestock at the Ranch.

Just twenty miles away, there are two golf courses. Many car and motorcycle clubs tour through the area during the winter and summer. Great scenic drives to nearby Aspen, Telluride, Redstone, Ouray, Crested Butte and Glenwood Springs. These are my favorite places for shopping, fine dining or soaking in the natural hot springs.

She can suggest where to go pet the horses or watch the Angus cows and calves. Hopefully you can see a baby calf born in the spring. She also enjoys feeding the fish at the pond.

Hers passions are cattle, horses, dogs, cooking and flower gardens.
