Everything you need for a relaxing desert getaway including complimentary firewood, fast STARLINK INTERNET, a 2-person "cowboy tub,” and the most beautiful night skies you’ll ever see.

The space
Set on dreamlike 40-acre swath of Mojave Desert, the Pink Cabin is a cozy and relaxing open-format studio cabin, with the softest bed you could lay on, cozy desert furniture, ripping-fast Starlink Internet, polished concrete floors, wood slat ceilings, and modern bathroom complete with a tub. It's the perfect place to relax and soak in the desert vibes.

Only 10 Minutes from Joshua Tree National Park Indian Cove Area. 20 Minutes to other entrances. Enjoy some world class hiking, sight seeing, and adventure.

Guest access
The desert is yours! Self Check in/out. You have free reign of the surrounding open desert. The final mile to the cabin is dirt road, but any car can make it without issue as long as you follow our written directions.

Much of the surrounding desert is open, borderless, and fun to explore (just please use your discretion to not wander onto someone else's property or near other homes).

We do require potential guests to have at least 3 prior good reviews on their account.

The "Pool" amenity is what we call a Cowboy Tub out here in the desert. It's a little more rustic than your average pool - but refreshing on a hot day all the same! Fits two people for a soak comfortably. We particularly enjoy sipping on a tasty beverage while we watching the sunset....

A slower pace of life, extreme temperatures, wildlife: don’t fight it. Love it. We enjoy it for these very reasons and hopefully you will too. You’ll be sharing the Ranch with our local flora and fauna. This is their home, so we ask you to please respect any beasties you might come across. Local critters include: bunnies, lizards, snakes, coyotes, roadrunners and a wide variety of birds and bugs. We recommend keeping the door shut as much as possible so no unwelcome friends are invited inside.

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood is vast, quiet, open, beautiful desert. Because the Sunset Cottage rests on a sprawling 40 acres, and surrounded by other expansive parcels of land, the sense of space is truly incredible. We have neighbors scattered here and there every quarter mile or so, but we rarely see another soul, it is almost NEVER* noisy, is it ALWAYS peaceful. Keep in mind that sound travels very far out here in the desert...

Speaking of the desert, it's worth keeping in mind that there are environmental factors to be aware of. The temperatures can be extreme, the wind can become quite strong, and it is not uncommon to come in contact with wildlife. You’ll be sharing the Ranch with our local flora and fauna. This is their home, so we ask you to please respect any beasties you might come across.

Local critters include: bunnies, lizards, snakes, coyotes, roadrunners and a wide variety of birds and bugs.

FOOD: there are many amazing restaurants in the nearby hi-desert towns. Pretty much all of them are between 15 and 30 minute drive from the Ranch, and none deliver, so plan accordingly. We have an extensive list of recommended restaurants in our guidebook.

*Worth noting that there is a nearby Marine Base. Occasionally you can hear military drills occurring off in the far distance (including deep booms!), but have no fear, they rarely last long and are completely safe.

Hello, we are Blake + Bea, owners of a 40 acre desert paradise in Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms, CA. One of our first trips together as a couple was to Joshua Tree, and we fell in love. Less than a year later we bought our own chunk of land with a house and three cabins. The desert is now our home and we couldn't be happier. We can't wait to share it with you.
