Description

The Space

A one bedroom cozy guest house with a private entrance located on Market St. in downtown Northampton. Brand new queen size bed with organic cotton sheets, full private bathroom, and lots of privacy. For each night booked, guests will receive $10 in credit for food and drink at The Roost, just a few doors down on Market St. (We cap the gift certificates at $20 even if you book the space for more than two nights.) The guest house is walkable to everything that downtown has to offer, including Smith College, and the amazing bike path. Just a short drive away to all other area colleges, farms, hiking and nature.

While there is no dedicated parking spot for the guest house. There is plenty of on-street parking, both metered and non-metered spots, on the surrounding streets and in the nearby neighborhood. If all else fails, there is always the municipal parking lot downtown, which is less than a ten minute walk from the guest house.

The only slightly quirky detail is that the room is within a free standing building behind our apartment. The building is divided into two rooms- the first or 'outer' room is used as a storage facility for reclaimed furniture that will be turned into amazing eclectic pieces by Sticks & Bricks. You must enter and pass through the storage room to find the 'inner' room of cozy comfort. The full bathroom is located within the 'inner' room. There are two locking doors and it is quite safe.

Getting Around

There is no dedicated parking spot for the guest house, however there is ample on street parking (both metered and non-metered) on the surrounding streets and in the immediate neighborhood. If all else fails, there is also the municipal parking lot downtown which is less than a ten minute walk from the guest house.

I love living in downtown Northampton. We moved here about seven years ago and have fallen in love with the walk-ability and scale of this city. My partner teaches Sociology at U Mass and we have opened a cafe/restaurant here in Northampton- just a few doors down from the guest house- called The Roost.
