Welcoming, with lots of light and right in the heart of cultural Lisbon, our apartment has been totally renovated and is located on a charming and quiet Bairro Alto street, just a few minutes from restaurants, bars, galleries, shops, theatres, museums and parks.
Bairro Alto, which literally means ‘high neighbourhood’ (it’s on top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon), is the centre of the city’s vibrant alternative scene - a lively mixture of old residential buildings, small traditional shops, all sorts of different kinds of bars and restaurants, fado houses and fashion shops. Quiet and picturesque by day, you can shop in the local bakery or grocery store or have coffee and a cake, a haircut or a tattoo - the ideal mix if you want to pretend you're a Lisbonner for a few days. We’ll be glad to guide you through it and tell you our favourite places to eat, drink, shop and visit nearby.
Right in the middle of the city, the apartment is a great base for exploring other areas too - the famous number 28 tram stops one street away, taking you down to the old shopping district of Baixa, past neighbouring Chiado, and then up again to the Castle and Alfama. The waterfront is just 10 minutes' walk away with miles of great walks or bicycle rides all the way to Belém, or a trip across the river. And if you feel like exploring further afield, the two train stations in central Lisbon, with trains to Cascais and Sintra, are equally close. Not to mention the fact that the nearest metro station is only a few blocks down the road.
And once back home you can relax in your cosy hideaway, carefully decorated to make you feel comfortable and at home. We have books, films and a computer with free WiFi to keep you connected and entertained.
This is a small residential building with only two other apartments and no lift, in a very friendly street with a tiny church on the corner. The apartment, which is on the second and top floor, is perfect for two adults, and the beds can be put together, to make a large double, or separately for two singles. It can also sleep one more adult or child on the sofa bed in the living room. We provide all bedding and towels, of course, and are flexible with check-in and check-out times.
There are always organic/bio tea, coffee, sugar and other basic foodstuffs in the apartment and we only use green cleaning products, so you don’t have to worry about your health or your conscience. Other than that, we can also go food shopping for you if you like. Just let us have your list, we'll let you know how much it will cost and everything will be there at check-in.
There is something magical about Lisbon - the hills, the light, the river, but this is a particularly fascinating area with its unique mixture of tradition and modernity. We hope you'll enjoy exploring it and feel at home here. We’re just around the corner and we’ll be happy to help and advise you in anyway we can.

Perfect! Teresa´s apartment is simply perfect: location, atmosphere, decoration, intallations (households, etc...). You have more than you need for a stay in Lisbon, plus Teresa gives you all the relevant information about restaurants, shopping, sightseeing,....
We spend three nights in Lisbon and following all Teresa´s recommendations, we get all we need without investing any time or efforts in finding the right places.
Best place to stay in Lisbon.
The apartment is really nice and very well decorated. Teresa has been a great host and gave us precious advices and addresses about the city.
This was a wonderful trip.
GREAT GREAT GREAT!
Amazing flat, amazing location, amazing Teresa (very nice, and so helpful).
THE place to go if you want to spend some days in Lisbon.
My girlfriend and I spent a great weekend in Teresa's beautiful apartment. Everything was exactly as it appeared in the pictures (i.e. awesome) and Teresa was very helpful, giving us some handy tips with regards to taxis, restaurants, sights and bike hire!
It was our first trip to Lisbon but I'm sure we'll be visiting again in the future... and as much as I like to check out new places I would be very tempted to stay at Teresa's again.
Amazing flat, amazing location and warm and welcoming hosts. Teresa gave us great recommendations and couldn't have been more helpful. The apartment was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated with interesting art work. There was also an impressive range of books and a computer we could use. Teresa left us a lovely bottle of wine and there was coffee, tea and other helpful staples in the cupboards. When we come back to Lisbon we will most definitely stay here again. Lovely apartment, a real home from home.
Very nice and cozy place. We stay for three days and apartment is exactly the way it's described and very convenient to everything. Teresa is a very nice host and gave us a lot of useful tips on the neighborhood , restaurants etc.
Great flat in great location, modern, clean and comfortable. Just on the edge of the "party side" of Bairro Alto, but oriented such that you hear very little, if anything. You are just a short couple of blocks from being right in it - literally 2 minutes. Convenient to everything, you can walk everywhere, or take any of the transportation options. No question this is a great home base for visiting Lisbon. Lots of cafes and groceries a couple blocks away on the main drag, so you don't have to go far for breakfast/lunch or supplies.
Steps up to the place are less than many other flats I looked at, but it's still a couple of flights of narrow stairs - an easy climb, but watch it going down. Bathroom was comfortable but small, shower could easily handle 6'+ person, though, and good water pressure. There is good heat in the place (two heaters), but we were still a bit chilly at times (in January). The bedroom gets cooler with its big windows, but it has a strong heater, so it's easy to stay warm at night - the living room heater I think had trouble keeping up, but that may be our ineptitude. But that's being picky anyway - it was plenty comfortable as long as you're not wearing shorts and a t-shirt, just bring socks. Internet was great, I had work to do during my trip and had no problem connecting, speed was more than adequate, video no problem. We didn't use it, but the kitchen was very nice. Lots of space, you could definitely do some cooking there if you wanted to eat in (but why would you?).
Teresa and Andy are super nice people and extremely helpful. They gave us tons of great suggestions, including our favorite restaurant (a new tapas place just down the road) and coolest rooftop bar (top of a parking garage, you'd never know it was there). The flat is well set up with lots of extras (maps, guidebooks, closet, drying rack, umbrellas, hair dryer, etc, etc). If (when) I go back to Lisbon, this will be the first place I'll check.
An absolutely beautiful apartment, perfect for a couple, and right in the heart of Bairro Alto. Teresa left a great scrapbook of notes about surrounding restaurants and activities, and the apartment was spotless, cosy and very stylish. I would 100% stay here again if I returned to Lisbon.
Really amazing apartment in witch everyone can have a lovely Lisbon experience. Everything you need is included : heating/air conditioned, free wifi, towels, air dryer, good kitchen and all with stylish and cool pieces of furniture.
Absolutely recommended from Ala and Fil
The apartment worked out fantastically & we had an excellent stay. Teresas place is beautifully light, clean and stylish. Barrio Alto is an awesome neighbourhood, super fun and full of small bars and restaurants. The apartment itself is just outside the main strip but on a quiet street, so noise isn't an issue.
Teresa has a comprehensive list of wonderful local attractions and restaurants which I suggest you take to heart, she has excellent taste.
