Guest access
The Avem Haven and its surroundings offer a secluded retreat, featuring a quaint private outdoor nook enveloped by trees, complete with an outdoor bath/shower and a fire pit. While guests are encouraged to explore the property, including a wander down to the creek and through the bush, we kindly ask that you maintain a respectful distance from other accommodations to preserve the privacy of fellow guests.
Other things to note
Please do not feed any of our animals' bread, including the horses, fish, birds, chooks or wildlife. Apples and carrots are fine though. Refrain from going into the paddock with the horses as the youngster is still in training.
Exploring the property is at your OWN RISK, as there are uneven and slippery surfaces, rolling stones, falling branches, wildlife, including snakes and spiders among sticks and leaf litter. By booking you are agreeing to our guidelines for staying on the property, you acknowledge and accept these potential hazards at your own risk, therefore the hosts have no liability for any unforeseeable accidents that you may incur.
The use of the fire pit is contingent on weather conditions, strictly prohibited during total fire bans and hot, windy summer nights. Therefore, it's crucial to consult with the hosts before lighting fires in the summer months to ensure everyone's safety and adhere to local regulations. Otherwise, you can be fined and jailed.
By making a reservation, you acknowledge that you are opting for an experience in the Australian native bush, where numerous animals, including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, possums, birds, insects, and native marsupials, inhabit the surroundings of the cabin and may approach or enter the premises if doors are left open. It's essential to be fully conscious of this reality, so we kindly request that you refrain from expressing dissatisfaction if you hear the sounds of animals at night, experience the occasional insect bite, or come across an ant in the bath or animal droppings in the outdoor area. Such occurrences are part of life in the Australian bush.
If the prospect of these natural encounters is unsettling for you, we recommend considering alternative accommodations, such as a motel room, more aligned with your preferences. Our aim is to provide an authentic and immersive experience in the Australian bush, and your understanding of the unique environment is greatly appreciated.
