Nestled at the north end of Waialea bay is this quintessential beach house, the Treadwell House. The open layout offers an ideal indoor/outdoor living experience to capture the essence of this stunning location. Tropical ocean breezes, the endless sound of the ocean waves and warm scent of the beach air will set you at ease.

4 bedrooms/3 baths in the main house with additional sleeping available (for an additional charge) with use of the 1 bedroom/1 bath Ohana (guest cottage).

The space
It’s a bit of old Hawaii mixed with a modern style and design. Comfortably furnished for everyone to gather in the main room and ocean facing lanai, with lot’s of space for the entire family to spread out and relax.

Just a few steps from your front porch awaits the epic beauty of Waialea bay. Serene mornings on the shady beach, fabulous snorkeling in the tropical blue bay (during most months out of the year) and sunsets to your heart’s content! Come enjoy an idyllic Hawaiian vacation at this uniquely desirable oceanfront home.

Waialea Bay Beach is a marine sanctuary and is abundant with underwater sea life. This is one of the few white sand beaches on Hawaii island and it offers both sun and shade trees. Many local families come here with their children. The spring-fall months are mostly calm and perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding.

The ocean bottom drops off gradually and reaches depths of around 30 feet (9 m) just outside of the bay. Below the surface, you’ll find several coral colonies around large underwater rocks. Lots of colorful fish live in the area.

The water is less friendly in the winter and since there are no lifeguards on duty, it may be best to stay on the shore and watch the waves. When the surf is up, surfers and bodyboarders are drawn to a surf break at the northern point of the bay.

Please note: As desirable as this property is due to it's charm and remarkable location, it is not a hotel. We keep the property as clean and secure as possible but please understand that this home is located on the beach in a natural, tropical environment. Although we do maintain a monthly pest control service, guests may encounter insects. If you love the sounds of the ocean and the beauty of the great outdoors, you won't find any place better! But if you prefer a climate-controlled, manicured, hotel-like environment, this may not be the place for you.

Guest access
This property can be rented as a 4 bedroom or a 5 bedroom to include the Ohana. If you book for 8 persons or less, the Ohana will not be included. If you have more than 8 people the Ohana will be added on which will be reflected in the rate increase.

Aloha~ I am a Real Estate Broker, born and raised on Hawaii Island. I grew up in Puako and Waimea, working in the Real Estate/Vacation Rental business with my mother from an early age. I have over 20 years of experience in property management and have been actively licensed in Hawaii for 18 years. After managing 30+ homes for many years, I decided to downsize and specialize in just a few boutique properties. I take pride in caring for these unique properties and enjoy welcoming our guests to this beautiful piece of paradise. I am available 24/7 for any questions or guests needs. I would be happy to assist you with your dream vacation to Hawaii Island!
