About this listing
If you want to explore and visit Costa Rica this Villa on the Pacific side is the place to stay!
Going to Costa Rica is a different holiday experience. Staying in a all-inclusive will not allow you to experience this amazing country to its best! Wake up to the sounds of the birds and watch the monkeys jumping on the trees while you are having your morning coffee. Villas Tranquilas is also known for its diversity of the most beautifull butterflies.
The Villas are in the middle of a mini-forest, 5 minutes from the full service Marina in Quepos and 15 minutes from the very famous Manuel Antonio Beach & National Park.

Beautiful, clean home with extremely well equipped kitchen, nice A/C in bedrooms, good internet, welcoming fruit, excellent guard, lovely grounds, wildlife all around, and an extremely helpful property manager. However the directions to the property were incorrect. The property is not in downtown Quepos as indicated in the listing. It is outside Quepos on Coastal Highway CR34, near the MaxiPali outside Quepos, not the one in Quepos.
I really wanted to love this place, but there was a big problem that hurt the experience. The ad listing says 3 beds and A/C, but what it does NOT mention is that one of those beds is a fold out couch in a living room WITHOUT A/C. The A/C is only available in the 2 bedrooms. My poor sister and her tall 6'2" boyfriend didn't get much sleep in the hot humid night with their feet hanging off the end of the bed, and I felt like we were misled.
I emailed Magna many times, asking if she could offer a partial refund because of the discomfort we had to go through and were even charged $15 extra for every person more than 2. She did not seem very sympathetic and claimed that fully disclosed the couch without A/C but I read, re-read and even printed out the listing for other people to read, and nowhere did it mention a couch without A/C. I wanted to give her an opportunity to make things right because I didn't want to tarnish her other 5 star reviews, but unfortunately she ignored my emails and requests to come to an agreement on a partial refund. She even refused to refund $15 that we were charged for 1 extra person when they had left a day early.
So that really soured us on what otherwise would have been a great experience. My family and I loved everything else about the condo. It was nice and homey and comfortable and not too far from the beach. But it's not right to mislead people about the accommodations, charge them extra for it, and then refuse to give any sort of partial refund and ignore their emails.
To be fair, this would be a good place to stay if you ONLY need 2 beds. Magna should fully disclose that the 3rd bed is a couch and A/C is only available in the 2 bedrooms so that other people don't end up in the same position.
Brian is a very hard person to please.
I accommodated his last minute request to have the house ready for him and his group when they were stuck at night without a place to stay. When he started the numerous complaints I offered that he stayed an extra day for free.
Like I said, a very difficult person to please.
This is the first person who ever complained about my house or my staff or my response time.
We stayed at this wonderful villa for 4 nights right before New Year. The place was super clean and big enough to accommodate our family of 4. Villa is located in quite gated community within few minutes of driving to restaurants and attractions in Manuel Antonio.
Magna was very responsive and answered all my questions before the visit. She gave some tips about local places. Per Magna's recommendation we went to Emilio's cafe ( breathtaking view and wonderful breakfast) and El Parador hotel for breakfast. Other places we liked is Agua Azul and Kapi Kapi ( the best restaurant during our visit).
We saw monkeys and sloths at the Manuel Antonio park. Went parasailing with Agua Azuls and we also went on an ATV tour ( be ready to get very dirty, but there is a really nice waterfall to get refreshed).
Villa was a peacefull place to get back after a full day of adventure.
Thank you Magna for sharing your place with us.
Magnas place is beautiful!!! We've been at Villa 14 for 3 nights and celebrated Christmas there. And it was the perfect decision to do that. The house is big enough for 4 or 5 people and it provides everything you could possibly need. It is very quiet, well protected and you share the pool only with a couple of neighbors. We would definitely come back! It's the best place, where we stayed in Costa Rica so far! Thank you Magna!!!
Magna is a great host, respond to emails immediately and keen to help with any questions you may have. The house was beautiful and the exterior, had the swimming pool to ourselves. Very well kitted out and ideal if you want to have access to Manuel Antonio but just far enough to be away from the American trash that has invaded the road to the National Park. Overall highly recommended and would definitely stay hear again.
The house is very clean, very comfortable and in a very quiet place. This is the best place in which we stayed in a one month trip in Costa Rica. A lot of care is given to this house and Magna is always super fast to respond to us and she is also caring for our comfort.
This place is way better than what the pictures are showing.
Take note that the house is not in the center of Quepos and having a car is almost a necessity.
It's a beautiful Nd VERY comfortable villa in a secure and well-serviced (and landscaped) community. The host (Magna) has been wonderfully accomodating. Likewise the onsite hostess, Maria, is very pleasant, attentive and helpful. We rate you SIX stars! Thank you, again, The Vega Family (based in Costa Rica)
