Interaction with Guests
We check in on guests at the property after they arrive just to make sure they are settled in. If a guest has a question or requires something, someone will call to see them straight away otherwise they have total privacy. Some people are more private than others and they just need to let us know. Some people like interaction with local people and so we are aware of that too.

The private cottage was wonderful. It was quaint and full of charm. The photos given by Diane depict the cottage well. The cottage fit our group of 4 adults and 2 young children great. Diane's sister made us feel right at home by stopping by shortly after checking in. Check in and out was smooth and simple, allowing us to see the sights without being rushed. It was a great place to stay.
Diane made us feel very welcome and stopped by to show us the house and the way to operate things around the house. She was very thoughtful and brought some pastries and milk and started a fire for us. She was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. I thought the description of the place was accurate and we were not disappointed in the least. Diane provided lots of helpful advice of local places to visit. We truly enjoyed chatting with Noni over a pint at N. Freaneys and visiting the High Crosses at Ahenny. Great couple of days!
Beautiful house, well appointed, private, quiet and secluded.
No wifi access but everything else was fantastic. 15 min to nearest supermarket for supplies.
Hi Simon, I am glad you enjoyed the house and thank you for your nice comments and feedback about the wifi. It gives me an opportunity to explain it to you and to anyone else who is reading this.
We realize that the wifi system is not of a standard that you get in hotels or probably in your own house, where you can just simply log on. That is due to the remoteness of the house. The government still hasn't kitted out parts of Ireland with wifi access. You can get it in most towns and cities but there are still pockets of the country that don't have it. Our area happens to fall into one of those pockets.
The ONLY way to access the internet at the old house is through this 3G dongle that we lend out to all our guests if they want it. You just plug it in to your USB and then you have to go to a shop to buy a voucher to activate it. That costs about 10 euros a week or you can pay for daily access as well. Its fine for surfacing the web but you wouldn’t be sending very sending large files with it. You could send simple word, excel or PDFs. I actually lived in the house for 2 years and worked from home with it. It’s not perfect but it’s the best that is available to us right now. I hope that explains things a bit better.
The Old House at Carrick On Suir was beautiful. Whoever did the renovation, did a wonderful job. We were met by Richard and Alice from across the road who got us into the house and nicely settled. We had lots of space and appreciated the numerous bathrooms. We were lucky with weather and so able to spend time in the yard along the river and really get a feel for the Irish countryside.
Lovely home - lovely people!
Loved the house. Loads of space and great to have three bathrooms even though there was only four of us. Great location for anyone intending to enjoy the South East
The place has been nicely renovated but our stay was full of problems. The property is difficult to find despite Diannes detailed instructions. Heating was an issue and we had problems with the water in the shower unit. Diannes family members in her absence did their best to help us out for which we were very appreciative however for what we paid this property is not worth it
A great place! It is a beautiful restoration of an old stone building situated in the peaceful countryside right next to a river. It's elegant, comfortable, and functional all at once. Truly a special property that we enjoyed immensely.
It's centrally located to see much of the region--but be aware that it's a bit of a drive to most services and sights
